if you have bills at home to pay, don't show up at stevens. it is a school . not a real job. if the economy has you down, and you are looking for a place to stay or hold you over , then stevens might work for you.

Sitting in he Americas best waiting to go to the yard in the morning to see the doc.....yay............not!
-
Have fun with Dr. Feelgood. -
I got an answer back from the Vice president of operations over my getting treated like an idiot when I brought that load to the yard, after being told to on the QC. He would not go into details, but says it has been handled, and if it happens again, to notify him ASAP. And if I get any repercussions, let him know ASAP.
I thanked him for looking in to it. And after my home time, I have been hustling, well except for waiting on tyson to reload the trailer twice.!!!!Barracuda905, Fyr and difference-maker Thank this. -

What smells fishy to one, smells like heaven to others. Not every company is for everyone.
It is a real job, after you finish the training, which is Stevens core business. Now it may not pay as well as some others, and it pays more than many. When you go to Stevens you agree to work for what they offer. if that does not work for you, that is not Stevens fault, but yours.
There are no perfect companies out there, even working for myself would not be perfect
I have had my problems with Stevens, but I also know what I have agreed to do, and for what pay.
I am curious about someone who quit Stevens during orientation in '86, still following what is said about Stevens.
No one gets rich working for Stevens, and if that is your dream, then Trucking is not for you. -
But bringing up something from "86 is like saying "when there were dinosaurs"! I'm just saying....... -
Baritone you & T are right on target... Not a Lawyer in the country would put the guy on a witness stand as a witness with any type of creditability... "I went to orientation for a cpl of days but never actually 'worked' for them"...

It sure has gotten silent here the last few weeks....
Everyone working hard I hope
I know I have been. I even got a pre plan this week, which was nice unloading on Saturday in New Jersey. Nice to have a pickup right away, and witch direction to go. So I made it to smithton PA, hoping they had started Saturday night races at the local track, but they have not...so no watching local paved track racing tonight -
I can say that it has been a busy week for me. After a much needed week off I started back on Monday in Tampa. I had to go to Bradenton to pick up an empty trailer and head to Southbay for a load of corn on the cob headed to Cheshire, CT.
Once in Southbay I checked and waited a few hours to get loaded. I received a phone call to go to the office and I was told to go to their Bellglade facility which is about a 20 minute drive away. So much for starting a 10 hour break and rolling early. I make over to the Bellglade facility and I was told they did not have the corn ready and that it would be ready around 2100. Sure enough at 2100 my phone rings and I back up to the dock. Several cases of corn later I am ready to roll. Just as I was getting the loadlocks in I was told I had to go back to the Southbay facility to put ice on top of the corn. Now it is nearly 2230 and I am running up against my 14 hour clock. I head back to Southbay and they put three thousand pounds of ice on top of the corn. I weigh the load at the scale across the street and pull back into the shipper for a 10 hour break. This running back and forth at the shipper caused me to have to do a repower request because I could not make the delivery on time.
I was repowered in Baltimore with a load delivering the next morning in Salem, NJ. I made the delivery and was given a pre-plan for a load going from Mechanicsburg, PA to Commerce, CA.
So here I sit at a Pilot truckstop off of I-70 in Central MO taking a 10 hour break. I am going to have to nurse my logbook for the next few days so I don't run out of hours. I only have 10.75 for tommorow. I will get 8.5 back on Monday then 12.5 on Tuesday.
Overall my pre-alliance DM has treated me well and she keeps the wheels turning which helps me raise capital.
