hey, English is my second language. Cut me some slack!
Anyone want to play scrabble in Italian?!Dieselten77 Thanks this. -
Reasons I lost my hair....
This isn't the first time I've done this job. I use to own my own company.
Today, came in and after checking all the trucks in my dispatch, found one running way behind. Set up a repower with a team. The driver needed to go 270 miles to the repower point.
He averaged 41 mph...all on I-10!
He took so much time, we had to set up a SECOND repower because he couldn't make the second load now, even tho he had one more day!
Just in case you're wondering, he gave up 641 miles and received back (before he blew it) 638 miles.
Had he picked up the pace a bit, he could have made the repower, then drove another three hours, making tomorrows delivery at 1600 possible.
His excuse? "It's hot out there, man!"
Second one that should earn the "beat him with a crowbar" award.
Three pick produce load. He skipped the second pick. When asked if he realized he'd skipped it, he said, "yes. I knew if I got it, I'd be late delivering so I just ran."
But he picked the third pick! Go figure!
I'm not sure what will happen in this case. I noticed he's being routed back to Dallas.
Do not pass go...
And just when you think you've finally go the day under control and can go home....a pickup T boned one of our trucks in a parking lot.
"I didn't see him."
Didn't see a 72' truck and trailer in broad daylight?!!
Everyone is ok, but it made for a late repower.Dieselten77 and TRKRSHONEY Thank this. -

Spent a lifetime at the DMV...errr..DSP, SDP...whatever...today.
Managed to get plates for the car and my wife's license changed over, but not mine.
I've moved and changed licenses in several states, and I have to say....Texas is without a doubt the most difficult and screwed up state I've ever had the experience.
"You must have your car registered before you can change your license. Go to the Tax Collector."
"Where would that be?"
"You'll have to look it up. I don't know."
at the Tax Collector...
"you need Texas car insurance before you can register your car."
"But my insurance agent says I have to have a Texas DL before he can write the policy."
"Then change your license and come back with a Texas insurance card."
"I have to have the car registered before I can change my license."
"These are the rules. you'll have to follow the rules."
Talk about a circle jerk!
Finally went back to DMV...er DPS and told them I don't own a car. I'm an OTR driver that lives on the road and has now moved to Texas.
They changed my wife's license. Not mine. Need an appt to do the Hazmat exam.
But finally got the car registered too.
and I thought California was bad!Last edited: Aug 21, 2012
