Something for all you to consider, when looking to get out from under a load, is how many miles left on the load and where you're at.
A repower in in Kingman is tough to sell. The truck coming out of Cali has to be running late, which means they likely were hanging around Salinas for three days while shippers got their act together.
Now they're late and they don't have any miles for the week.
If they repower in Kingman, they're headed right back into Cali.
No miles and back in the Veggie patch.
Or, if we do it in Albuquerque, they get some miles, and they'll head to Amarillo for a meat load.
Usually, when we find them, they have a full day available. So we let them run for the day and look to repower when they shut down. Usually around Gallup to Albuquerque.

And the story goes for anywhere. I get calls from trucks with 100 miles left on a 1700 mile load and two days before delivery.
How can I sell that to someone who has to give up a 900 mile load? See what I mean.

Better to keep repowering to 500 mile loads and keep running than to run the legs out of a load and hope for an innocent grad fleet guy that doesn't know better.

Are those new T-680's on the road yet? How do the drivers like them?

My old truck broke down and our new ones are on order. They arent putting any more money into the old ones so I got a rental. Its a 2013 T-680 with 2500 miles on it. I would say that its new, but I know better...

Dang, I love that truck! Rides like a Cadillac and is really quite! I sure hope that my new one is similar!

The 680's were suppose to start rolling in the second week of August.
    None yet.
No one seems to know what's going on, but we need trucks! I keep watching the old ones go out the door, but no new ones come in.
the grad fleet guys are arm wrestling over who gets a truck.

I havent seen any on the yard or the road. Was wondering where they were.

Saw my old truck the other day at the yard. Guess that its still on the road.

Sounds new to me!! Hasn't been leased out to someone that has used it for 15-20 cross-country trips!! We saw a couple of 680s on the yard, look sharp! Enjoy your "Cadillac" while you can, hope your new one is as nice too.

I have road rescue on speed dial now. 5 calls in the last 24 hrs... ended up spending 41/2 hrs at a KW shop getting a new alternatir put in.

I am on a meat load and this mornig as soon as I was certain I was heading to the shop I called meat dispatch, who never answers the phone, and left a message and sent a QC to my DM suggesting they may want to repower this becuase I can not make the first drop on time. Mind you I call from.Salina KS and the first drop is in PA, the 2nd in NJ so its not like there are no miles.on it. After the truck is fixed I run another 440 miles. Now I am out of time and parked about 650 miles from.first drop and when my 10 is up I will have 19 hrs to first appointment, so really, once again no way to make it on time... do you think I would have heard from anybody asking about the status of the load? Not a peep... so I guess I will call the 1st reciever in the morning and see if I can reschedule the appointment for a couple of hours later. The2nd drop is not a problem, it is Monday morning...

Oh did I memtion I am supposed to be on the yard Monday? Told my DM multiple times, they had me sit for two days waiting on this load... 1800 miles and it will consume 7 days, not to mention having me halfway across the country when.my little blue qualification.card expires.

I notified them.by phone and QC more than once... I give up.

    TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.

One more reason why I have always had my own Med card. The Stevens card may expire (and it did twice while I was driving for them), but I always had another so I was legal.
