Actually this is quite normal for May across Wyoming. It will melt off in the morning just as fast as the snow is falling today. Summer does not come to Wyoming until Mid June and ends June 23rd.

I decided to take the communications problem into my hands, and waited until my DM went home, then sent a free form QC message to tell the other truck waiting for me in Albuquerque that I won't be there until 4am sunday.
About 30 minutes later my phone rings, asking me which truck stop I am at. He has a truck coming this way, that has 1000 miles left on the load, and delivers on monday at 16:30. That works for me, and will use my hours. Only down side, it delivers to a transfer point to containers, and they are slow, and there is no place to park, yet they insist you park on the street and wait.
Now get this, the driver arrives, asking why they are taking this load from him...I tell him I am out of hours, and meat needed to get this load moving. He had just repowered to his load 2 hours before, which came out of Holcomb. Another driver that was out of hours. So not only is liberal screwed up, but so is holcomb. Now he was only shuttling my load to the truck waiting in Albuquerque. Poor newbie, has just finished grad fleet. A normal Saturday. But now I don't have to deal with anybody until Monday night/ Tuesday morning in california. -
It has been a while since I have posted so I figured I would take advantage of an opportunity to do so. I am sitting in Flagstaff, AZ on a weather shutdown. The wind is blowing very hard and the State of Arizona has shut down I-40 from from MM 218 to MM 252. I was headed east prior to the shut down and the wind was getting stronger and stronger.
It was a very busy week. I started the week in Liberal, Kansas with absolutely no cell phone service. Monday, I only had 1.75 hours to run and that left me stranded in Guymon, OK. I hope I never run out of hours in that area again. I finally made my delivery in Commerce, CA. I spent the night in Ontario and was given a shuttle run back to Commerce. After that I was given a produce load with pickups in Oxnard and Arvin. I made the pickups and went on my way. I shut down for the night in Kingman, AZ only to be shut down again for the wind. Total miles for this week has been close to 3k. Stevens really has been keeping me busy. -
Here I sit in the bustling metropolis of Liberal, Kansas patiently waiting since noon yesterday for my load. After calling the security shack to check on the status of my load they were kind enough to tell me that my load was not yet ready. In fact, a trailer had not even been assigned. I guess I will end up getting a 34 hour reset here. At least there is a nice breeze blowing through the truck to keep me somewhat cool.
The fuel department called me and went over my fuel numbers over the past few weeks. They had no complaints as my overall average was 6.67 mpg. The mileage could have been higher, however, I do not have a truck with an apu, so I have to idle the truck more because of the the summer heat. -
And I join you in waiting for a meat load. But this week I am not up against my 70. Just sitting in amarillo...but works out good, as I dropped my trailer, went and got the truck serviced, and washed, had a good lunch/dinner, and am now relaxing in a hotel room. I hope the load comes ready early, as the DLD is 11 pm Saturday, and it has to be in LA Monday 9am....gonna be tuff to do in a slow stevens truck...
Now a tyson truck that runs 75 mph no problem. -
If there are any trainers on the thread needing a student call Randell he's got a bunch to get out... That's my public service announcement for the day. If you haven't guessed I'm still on the yard on med hold as Randell's runner. God it sucks having micro fractures in the kneecap.

hi all. Stuck waiting for evening dispatch in Amarillo. Yesterday missed a weigh station on 84 as you enter NM. Saw the 1 mile sign and signaled to go into right lane but a WalMart truck driver had bliners on or was being an ###. By the time I'm behind him the dry bulker won't let me over and I miss the tiny exit. Heck, never saw the place for the trucks to my right. So I'm doing 50 and looking for some place to turn around...ha...and an officer pulls up behind me. She says to go up to the truckstop and turn around. When I get back there she is trying to tell a guy in a pickup he needs to have commercial plates to pull a motorcycle trailer and is giving him three tickets. An hour and three phone calls later to NMDOT he leaves after handing the three tickets back to the officer. Now she clearly is in a foul mood and I'm looking forward to a level 1 and a ticket for disregarding a port. She asks me to get my cab and trailer regs, my CDL and physical card and bills. She takes them and says to wait over by the scale. She spends what seems an hour on my log book then calls me over and says she's giving me a warning. I sign the thing and hightail it out to my truck!

Glad you got off with a warning and nothing more!
