Sitting in De Forest, WI for the weekend at least. Truck is having regen issues and keeps derating the engine. They supposedly fixed it at the yard before we left, but it came back. Even when it's not derated this thing can not get out of it's own way. I'm downshifting on slopes, not even hills. Pete dealer can't get us in until Monday, so we sit at the TA.

Where you live is the problem. You can not go to the school in dallas, as you have to be a resident of Texas now to be issued a license. Moving from florida to denver to go to school? As a former manager, I would also not hire you, not worth the risk to the company. Too many people in florida wanting to be truckers, no freight out for the companies...
Don't want to be stuck in an 8 month contract? With stevens it is a year or more, since you want to go to one of their schools. -
OK, I know that is has to be on TTR somewhere but I cant find it. How can I check my CSA score? Thanks in advance...
-
Your hiring area must be the only problem. If you have a good driving record and your background is good with 3 years of more work history then you should of been hired. Your hiring area is going to make it hard to get hired. There are several options you could do. 1st get your CDL on your own, or move to another area, and outside of FL like for example Georgia. I understand that you may want to get trained and dont want to go with CRST but I guess its the only choice you have since your in Miami. Take your chances and work hard. You have to work hard to get started anyway to get something good. After a year of experience there will be more options for you.

first off, you as a driver does NOT have an official score. you do have a list of violations, which you can check for the low cost of $10 at http://www.psp.fmcsa.dot.gov/Pages/default.aspx
or your carrier can show you your internal score for them.nascarchuck Thanks this. -
Thank you sir... Do you know how long it takes for a violation to get into their database?
About a month ago I was pulled into the scales north of Ardmore, OK and got nailed for paperwork issues on my rental truck. The guys working the scales said that it wouldnt affect my CSA score but I want to check and see for myself. -
Just thought I would check in.Good to see everybodies doing okay.Yes Cheney reads this site.He asked me if I was a certain driver on the site.LOL.Im still doing well at my local gig.I recently got off the extra board and got my own gig.Making good money like I was promised and building my senoirity on the drivers list. For all you guys wondering about Stevens as a choice for your training.Go for it.You get out of it what you put in.Stevens was good to me,they made it possible for me to be in the position Im in now.If I for some reason had to go back OTR,I wouldnt hesitate to give them a call.
nascarchuck, TRKRSHONEY and Dieselten77 Thank this. -
I guess you right. But for the contract I rather be stuck with a year contract with Stevens or other company than CRST.nascarchuck and TRKRSHONEY Thank this.

Yes my driving and background is fine. Like I said before I was accepted by them before. They had a little interview over the phone with me and checked of everything and it was all ok. The next day when I called the recruiter she asked me a question and I guess I should had answer no. Now she told me she will have to ask her boss about that and will give me a call back. She never did so 2 days later I gave a call back and was told Iam not accepted anymore. I asked why and they told me they have better qualified people at this moment smh. But I have a plan and that plan might help me out.
