Stevens being a training company, they have 100 people at the door to take that company job you leave. They will never run off all the company drivers.

Just wait until you get stuck in the Chicago to south east loop, where all the runs are 700 miles paid, and dispatched late.

You chose to rent a truck from Stevens... I choose not to... as I have stated I have never turned down a load and as a matter of fact my very first dispatch off the yard on the dumb and dumber phase was to repower a load to you at a Truckstop in Dallas... but again, being dispatched on a load is far different from being forced into a repower that costs me money so another can make it instead. If there is a reason for the repower... can't make appointment, breakdown, etc... fine, we should do what we have to do, but I am talking about giving up a load so you can babysit one for someone else... no, that is not right. If you picked and chose that load it is yours. I don't think that gives you the right to run the miles off it and then expect someone else to sit on it at the end.

You chose to rent the truck and all associated costs that go along with it in the hopes of making more money. I hope it works out for you, but do not expect me to help you make more.

I am not trying to give the impression that Stevens will come crashing down if I am not here... don't misunderstand me, but a lot of the company drivers are ones who tried Alliance and didn't make it for example, and some of them have considerably more experience than a lot of the new alliance drivers... if you start taking advantage of one group to benefit another you will eventually end up with a company made up of O/O, L/O and students...

Like I said, I get a dispatch and I run it... and I will continue to do so. My point was directed to forced repowers that are forced for no other reason than to allow someone else to keep rolling.

Well, you may think that way, but the company drivers didn't sign on to take a load the final 50 miles and deliver, on back to back to back loads. They are there to make a living wage just like the L/O or O/O. Yes they are forced dispatch, but not at the pleasure of Alliance Leasing.
Any driver that gets hit with back to back repowers of very short distance needs to have a talk with their driver manager. and if the driver manager doesn't help, go over his head to his boss. also, a lot of the repowers that go wrong are brought on by lies told to the driver giving up the good loads for the crap leavings of L/O and O/O.
Sorry to rain or ya'lls parade, but that's the facts.

Sorry to rain on yours, but hubby did multiple repowers when he was starting out on Alliance, and we have down multiple since we started teaming where the load was a company trainer that didn't want to go here or there, or didn't want to sit. So it goes both ways. Most repowers with short deliveries should be done with drivers who are short on hours, which has been the typical case for us. When we request a repower due to too much time, we suggest a place that will leave at least a few hundred miles for the other driver.

Besides, anytime you are assigned to a repower, all you have to do is call your DM, or Dispatch to get the details.

And as Emulsified has stated, may be forced dispatch, but they aren't picking up the loads, therefore, IMO, they should be shown to the door. If you had paid attention in Orientation, typical 'pecking order' is supposed to be Alliance trainers, Company trainers, Alliance teams, Company teams, Alliance solo, Company solo. I may have got the 'trainer' and 'teams' backwards, don't remember for sure, but I do know that recently trainers have been getting the 'choice' loads over teams.

I said nothing about Alliance being greater than company, but believe me that is the attitude of 'the powers that be'. As you said, anyone can make the call to be routed to Dallas, and a lot of Alliance drivers have been doing just that recently due to the fact that there is less and less advantage to running Alliance since Company drivers are being allowed to pick and chose loads and repowers.

18 update... setting up for the curve of week three. Right turn, left turn, left turn, right turn. Up shift, down shift, lather, rinse repeat. I'm learning quite a bit but even under the heat of it all, having a good time. I have learned some people have a knack for sharing helpfull experence and some don't. You have to focus, learn and apply. Anyway looking forward even though the next year may be a challenge.
