To me, this is the worst issue with Stevens. Other issues mentioned are industry related...

It has never sat well with me the separation and discrimination of company drivers vs lease O/O as far as "priority" or ANY advantage in keeping moving. At least with the PROVEN solo company drivers, there should also be the same urgency in meeting the drivers needs. Always rings true that more students at the door but it is the ability of getting loads delivered on time that keeps customers and they are who pay all of our checks!

An update about dedicated: I'm done with my trial and decided that it will not suit my needs. At least not as a Stevens Dedicated or specifically on this Kraft "Bakers Run". If you lived in Chicago, would be great for ya or an hourly position. I like to hustle and drop & hooks are nice but I need to make money. Bout it...

Soo, I'm scheduled to be back in Dallas on the 11th for trainers class. Regardless if you're company or lease, two people in the truck will get more miles, especially at Stevens... And I think that I have the right attitude for it ....hopefully! ;)

Like TLea said, Hunts Point isnt as bad as they say. Just follow the directions that they give you on the phone and you will be fine. And call in during regular hours on Sunday so you get the regular NYC guy (Mark?). Im my opinion he is the best person to talk to inside of Stevens. He will actually treat you like a human. Great guy.

If you have a morning drop in PA, you will get tied up in the traffic so get ready and be patient. Get over to the right lane as quickly as possible at the G Washington bridge because your exit is at the end of the bridge. If you miss it get on the phone ASAP because he has another route (been there, done that).

If you stay the night there be careful with the Chinese delivery as I never could find any bathroom after normal business hours. :D And what ever you do, DONT order Papa Johns Pizza! That stuff was NASTY! Only ate about 2 slices. There are places to eat inside all of the buildings during working hours. The little pizza joint isnt too bad.

Where is your 1st drop in PA? That run sounds familar. I think I did that or something similar.

I know that Stevens preaches against the use of GPS's but for the rebels out there, what kind are you using? Do you like it?

Im in the market to replace my old GPS. I am considering the Garmin Nuvi 465t but one thing that I would like in a GPS that it doesnt do is the ability to save the favorites in alphabetical order. I would also like it to tell me what lane to be in but I dont remember if the 465 does that or not.

Anyway Im trying to stay in the $250 range.

Google Map App on my smart phone. Too quick and convenient to try something different... (and I'm cheap)

Very basic but the satellite images are priceless imo for finding shippers/receivers...

We currently have the Rand McNally 720, previously had PCMiler 750. Both have lane assist, Rand McNally allows you to save favorites, can't remember about PCMiler. PCMiler runs about $299 now. Only reason we swapped is that our PCMiler was stolen @ the KW dealership in Knoxville, so we decided to try Rand McNally.

Thanks Chuck... I really am not worried about the routing... I am worried about the coming storm and the winds... and finding somewhere to park if it gets really bad. I don't have a lot of confidence that I will have a new load assignment ready to.go when I.am.and I am.pretty sure I'll be halfway through my 14 by the time I am empty... maybe more...

First.drop is at 5am in Robesonia PA... outside Harrisburg of the 78
