Flying J in Frystown PA... exit 10 on the 78...
Its about twenty miles from where my first drop was so I just hung here... I figured the closer I got the harder it would be to park and like Dryver said... if something had happened on the way there... Why were you driving into a hurricane again?

I am sure they would have let me try for New York yesterday...I didn't give them the option... sent it in on QC to safety and DM, told them why.
TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Made it into Hunts Point... took advantage and came in at night... very eerie with about half the lights out, but almost no traffic to speak of though so even, though I made two wrong turns, I was able to get back on route with no issue.

As of last night, virtually everything was back open as usual. The major problem for us was moving trucks thru the snow lines in the Appalacians.
-
Call of the night, last night. Came across the customer line.
"Stevens Transport. Can I help you?"
"I need to speak to your safety department."
Sensing this not being a Stevens driver, I asked, "Are you a Stevens driver?"
"No sir, I ain't."
"He's tied up with the police at the moment over an accident. Is there anything I can help you with?"
"I want to report a speeding Stevens truck."
"Where are you at and how fast is he going."
"I'm in Texas and he's going more'n 75mph."
"A STEVENS truck? Are you sure?"
"Yes sir. I been driving these roads for 35 years. I'm an owner op. My truck tops out at 75mph. I cain't catch him."
"You're trying to CATCH a speeding Stevens truck?"
"You bet! He blew past me so fast I thought my truck had stopped. #### near got out to see what happen."
"What's the speed limit where you're at?"
"75"
"Did you happen to get the truck number?" (I'm still doubtful)
"Yessir. It's ####."
"Oh, now I understand. That's an owner op. He's not governed."
"I KNOW he's not governed. Mind you, I'm not complaining. He's driving just fine. Uses blinkers, doesn't tailgate."
"Well how can I help you?"
"I just called to compliment him. He's a fine driver and this is the first time in my driving career I can't pass a Stevens truck!"
"I'll pass that along to him."
"You do that. Goodnight."
I know that truck and driver, so I called him.
"Hey (insert unidentified driver name), I just got a call on you from another driver. Said you're doing 80mph."
"Yea, and faster, maybe. Just wondering what it's like to be a bullhauler."
"Why the fire?"
"This load has to get to (place) and there isn't time. (Dispatcher) promised me if I get it there by tomorrow, he'll give me a great load. This one's hot."
"That explains why you dispatched out and didn't come by to see me!"
"Just reliving my glory days. Gotta go."Corporal_Clegg, nascarchuck and TRKRSHONEY Thank this. -
Does anyone know a trailer washout place on Long Island? The one Stevens gave me directions to and and a phone number for is no longer in business... they then gave me the number for a mobile wash guy and I left him a message but have yet to hear back.
Its ten minutes to my appt time and I can not get loaded without a receipt from a trailer wash.
