Here I set... All broken hearted, came to train yet we are park-ed (make it rhyme). Flew from Dallas to Albuquerque, ran a few miles but my trainer is quirky. He argues with his DM, now he is pissed. All loads rejected, training I miss. :biggrin_25512:

So we were on a load. Did two drops. Pulled off of last drop to do a re power to Safeway. Got empty and had to stop. Setup on another load but had to have truck repaired. Attempted to get repaired while we wait for the repower, but took forever to get approval for repair. After finally getting that approved we are tired tried to nap. Other driver passes us. Now we gotta go through traffic to get load. Trainer is pissed so he says no. Whomever at Stevens my trainer talked to sent MSG stating they would pay us for trouble and go get the load... Nope, he wants something different. Got one for the yard. Changed. IDK why, but it was. Then got a load to DH for 250 miles and take a 2500 mile load to Jersey. I thought I would finally get some miles. Nope somehow off of that now. Then trainer says we are going to Dallas again. Now we are not. Back to the bunker I go. No idea what is going on. Rent is due and I am afraid I will never finish training. I have over three years of safe driving (12 years ago) but had to start over. Starting over is good. I want to be a safe driver, but I can't be held hostage here. Can't get my counselor on the phone (as a matter of fact out of all the messages I have left I have never spoken to her. I always get a machine or someone else. I am starting to wonder if she is real. I am beginning to wonder if Stevens was the correct choice. :biggrin_25513:

Yes they give their l/o the tools they need to succeed, heres what they also give. they turn your determination, skills, vision, hopes, dreams, yours and your famlies well being, over to a system of leveraging and pressure hardly any of it has to do with loads actually being delivered its more about some kind of strange power struggle which i dont fully understand nor do i want to. (i was there for 4 yrs 2 company 2 as a l/o (yes completed)no the bonus aint a bonus its money they took from u to begin with) its the drivers against a bunch (few exceptions) people who dont deal with the frustrations of being on hold for hours only to be hung up on for a mandatory call. heres one for you, perfect example,,,,, lets say you go to canada for stevens transport. you drop a load and pick up a new load, you (i can assume the still do this) have a mandatory call before you are allowed to go near the border to cross back to usa. lets say its 2300 in january a nice heavy snowhas begun (u drive for stevens so you cant afford a canada call on your cell phone) so u find a pay phone(quebec) no booth mind u just an outdoor phone. lets say its -10 snowing wind blowing a 20mph you got your pen paperwork all laid out in the wind and snow ready to do things right. make the call...... your on hold for a reasonable 50 minutes (by this time your hands are too frozen to write down what ur suposed to any way .... somone anwsers ...yeah good times..... all good right the stevens night guy misunderstands one word u tell him tells u to call back when u get a better signal .....click this is stevens transport with the very nice shiny fancy epuipment, and a couple thousand people that are trying to please people who could care less about them.

Let that be a lesson. Dont get your DM mad at you. Keep him/her happy and they will keep you happy. Dont turn down loads, dont argue, etc.

And yes, she is real. I have actually seen her but she is always outside taking a smoke break. I have hear alot of others with the same complaints.

Here is one for you Emulsified... on the subject of pre plans... are they tied to a specific load or to a truck/driver?

Here is what I mean and why I ask... Today after emptying at a Walmart DC in Ohio I get a call asking if I will do a repower in Dayton with a truck that is currently broke down... I say sure... be glad to, I never turn anything down (except the repowers when I am on hometime) so it turns out to be a pretty good one... to Cheyenne Walmart DC. Now the original appt was I believe 1730.today... obviously that is not happening, and I do not yet have a new appt,; so I do the repower acknowledge the load assignment and hit the road. I am not even out of Ohio yet and a new message has arrived...I can't imagine what it would be so I take a listen and its a preplan... I hear Nebraska to NJ and I think, nice miles... after sitting out that storm and missing miles because of it I think sounds good. But something didn'tbsound right and as we all know Qualcommese is not always the easiest language to understand so I listen again and ###### if the pick up isn't it tonight and delivery on Tuesday... I won't even be in Cheyenne until Sunday night and do not currently have an appt time so do not even know when I will be empty...

Needless to say that is a worthless preplan and I am not even sure why it was sent to me unless it was tied to that load ans sent automatically .

KMac - not sure why you got that preplan. That's over 800 miles DH. They don't DH anyone that far. It was probably tied in to the repower you're on. Cheyenne to Nebraska is the norm. The system probably thought you'd be empty in Cheyenne on time. Emul will chime in here sometime today and clear it up.

I will empty in Cheyenne... that is where the repower is headed... The question has to do with the dates... had this load delivered on time it would have worked, but both the delivery date and the pick up dates are yesterday and I just got the repower last night.

Technically speaking, a person doing a repower cannot remove a preplan from a truck in order to do the repower. They must recieve the DM and load planner's permission BEFORE even asking.
There are certain persons in the company that can flout this rule due to nepotism, but we won't go into that.
Now if the DM or planner are not on duty (or perhaps out taking a smoke break), the task can be done. In my case, neither is there so it's much easier.
However, in order to actually DO a repower, you must remove the preplan from the truck, plan the repower, then reattach the preplan to the truck. Or in the case of preapproval with the planner, you may 'hand the load back' to the planner to assign to someone else.
If you remove the preplan and don't tell the load planner, it just gets lost and someone doing load tracking will hopefully discover this uncovered load.
Planners get all bent out of shape and huge turf battles have erupted over this kind of action.
So more than likely what happened in your case is a person from the repower team called and asked you to do the repower, then in executing it, removed the preplan from the broken down truck and reattached it to your truck. The dates are not considered. That is the job of the planner.
So the short answer is: A preplan follows a truck. If that truck is repowered from the load that takes it to the preplan's pu area, then the preplan moves to the new truck. The preplan will be attached to the new truck, even tho it can't make it, to keep it from getting lost. Then the preplan is later assigned to a new truck.
