LMAO! You should have kept up the BS a bit longer! I would have had the student play along and say how easy it is the way you taught him. Maybe my evil streak is a bit wider or longer? Anyway, I'm sitting at Hersheys in Edwardsville IL waiting for them to load the trailer, then off to to Temple TX. I'm due to grad to regular fleet so I expect I'll be told to head to the yard when I'm done with this load. Got 6.8MPG last month and got my bonus today! On track for 6.9+ this month for $120! The biggest secret is sloooow acceleration, and not to accel up hills. Let it slow a bit when you climb small hills, and drive 55-60.

I am back out on the road. While on home time I enjoyed copious amounts of adult beverages in moderation. :biggrin_2556:

I took my family to Disney World. The summertime parade and fireworks is a great show. My son especially loved the fireworks.

The fine folks at Florida's Natural are taking their sweet time loading the trucks. I guess I will be staying the night here. I am not too worried about it. This load is only 780 miles and the final stop is on Tuesday. Hopefully, I will get a repower off this load because it has way too much time on it.

HELP!!! i've been trying to get into a company that will train and employ me. I've already been sent out to central ref in SLC UT just to be sent home because of my juvenile record (B4 anybody gives me crap I didn't rape or kill anyone). My juv felonies are more than 10 years old. Is there anybody who has recently been through their school that can tell me if they require that you disclose your juvenile record? any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Call and talk to a recruiter and be open and honest. A guy in my class had a felony years back and was accepted. Don't hide anything or lie, they do check.

too much time on a load, stevens does not care. The driver can set and wait. Now have a load that will be late, and bam, another truck is there to take over, giving you another set and wait for delivery load.

Yea I am complaining tonight, as I am waiting to make a delivery in compton CA, sunday morning. Even waiting in Flagstaff all day yesterday for a repower that never came. Guess they just did not need me to move a load for them. worst part was being told, yea no problem we will get you off that load, you are in a great location.

Get empty in the morning, and then see what the weekend crew can dredge up for me.

    too bad we can't trade.
I'm here north of Pittsburg PA. Had only 6.5 hrs avail today. Have 10.5 tomorrow. Load due at noon tomorrow in Atlanta.
They assigned it to me at 1500 yesterday with a dld of 1400. I had zero hours until midnight. Said take it anyway.
Picked it up at 0230 in Rochester.
Just like the last load. Was late before I got it and no repower coming...
and I just want to go home!

Emulsified, I feel for you. Here I sit at a receiver with all the hours in the world and there you sit with no hours. I was on I-10 which is a major freight lane for this company. I figured there would have been someone who was in trouble that I could have helped, however, my request fell upon deaf ears.

While approaching the scale house in Mississippi this morning, the prepass started it's familiar beep. The difference this time is that the blinking light was red instead of green. I thought this was odd because I only had 32k in the box and I knew I was legal on all axles. I pull onto the scale and the sign flashes "report inside". I grab my logbook, bills, trailer registration, and permit book and walk inside. The lady behind the counter was nice enough tell me I was going to submit to a level 3 inspection. This was just a check of my paperwork, logbook, driver's license, and medical card. She checked everything and found no violations. She had me sign a paper acknowledging the inspection and gave me a copy to turn into Stevens. I was in and out in 20 minutes.

I only have two more weeks on grad fleet so I should be routed back to Dallas soon. I hope they give me a newer truck with an APU. Mine has 536k. This sweltering southern heat is killing my fuel mileage. I am now having to idle the truck all the time just to stay comfortable.

    Emuslfied,

made my delivery this morning a the Major Cluster called Ralphs, or food for less, takes forever to get checked in, and then there is NOT enough room to back into the docks unless the tractor beside you unhooks, to maybe give you enough room to back in. It took the lumper 10 minutes to unload me, 3 hours for the reciever to check it in, all one product, 19 skids, all stacked 5 high. The lumper did not have to break anything down.

When I went to leave, the streets were lined with trucks trying to get in, I counted 40 trucks all illegally parked waiting. Compton does not allow big trucks to park anywhere.

Did not expect a load today, and I was sent one, before I got off the lot. Pick up on friday, Delivers today at 14:00 in Cheyenne WY WalMart. Yea that is gonna happen. Have not heard a word from stevens on it either. Sent the running late message, asking for a teleporter. From a load with 1 1/2 days extra to a load minus 1 1/2 days. I guess it works....back in Dallas, but not out here on the road.

The load had been setting on the Colton Drop yard since Thursday, according to the log book the guard had.

This tread has made my decision a lot easier. I drove for about a year back in 97. Ex wifes entire family were hands as matter of fact drove for her brother who had his own authority at the time. She did not want any part of being married to a driver. So i gave up the job I had wanted since I was little. I have been debating on reentering the profession for a while now and all your posts have made me realize I still have the desire. I loved it while I was out there and have missed it since. So here we go it is time to start throwing apps out and see where it leads! Thank you all for the very informative posts. Hopefully I will see you out there soon.
