Actually, I95 north bound was opened in april, while the south bound span was opened in September. No more detour.

They still send the QC message warning us not to go over it.

Personally, I hate 95 through CT anyway so the odds of me going that way are slim, but it would be nice to have current info.

    TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.

During the D&D phase what driving/hours restrictions do they have?

If I remember right... off the road by midnight central time and an 8 hr break for the truck... If you call safety you can usually get approval to run after midnight too... so not many restrictions at all really.

    TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.

My copilot shows the bridge restricted at 26000 lbs. Was this a temporary restriction? Since I got the Qc message I assumed it was a permanent one.

The GPS on the QC is pretty good most of the time. The msg that comes across when your going NE via 95 is an auto thingy. Like the call for safety talk if going to border towns, florida, california, dead head, and weather master. But, they dont always stay on top of them and what actually still needs to go out

The GPS part of the Qualcom is a pile of merde! I cannot begin to tell you how many times it routes people around their butts to get to their elbow. It has a failure rate of more than 20%, meaning it suddenly quits routing or decides during mid course to reroute you another way. Last night I got a call from a driver heading from St Louis to Carteret NJ. The original route line was fine, but somewhere around Dayton, it decided his route line should be thru Charleston WV!
    Happens all the time.
Did I mention how many drivers it routes onto dirt roads in the middle of Kansas?
The dirty secret on the inside is someone advised ownership to pay a lot of money for this feature and no one wants to come forth and tell ownership they spent more than a million dollars for a pig in a poke.
It may be fine for the next 9 times you use it, but that tenth time? Hold onto your map books people! It's a loser.
Fortunately we cannot reset route lines, send Navigo instructions or anything else from operations.
Not that we'd want to. We simply tell people to use their maps.
To which, all too much lately, we hear, "I'm not sure how that works".

I love GPS's. Don't get me wrong. I was a beta testor for RMN. But the unit we have with the QC is a pile of merde!
    Simple fact.

    Corporal_Clegg and TRKRSHONEY Thank this.
