We have them. I just make it a point to get all my nose picking and butt scratching done while on camera. The self pleasure thing is where I draw the line -

Well folks, good news...I hope!
We have changed the phone system once again. It is now configured as a call center. This means all incoming driver calls go into a cue where they are answered in order by the next available person. In the old system (previous to the CF system of the last two weeks) it was largely configured the same, but if you were left on hold or not answered quick enough, the system 'recycled' you to the end of the line. We all experienced the "there are 6, there are 5, there are 4, there are 32 calls ahead of you" problem. Now you work down to your turn and get answered. In the old system, drivers called in on the customer line and 'jumped' the line of driver calls. We are now instructed to move them to the end of the line. So if they call and wait for whatever time, then we answer (the customer line), we are instructed to put them at the end of the driver que.
You should be able to go directly to the department you are seeking without waiting forever. So if you are calling Produce for a produce talk and dispatch, you will go directly into that que. Previously you had to wait until someone finally answered, then be put in that que to wait again.
You have the option to to directly to an extension and bypass the cue, so if you receive a QC saying, "Call me at X12345", you don't have to wait in line.
We hope this will cut down on calls. Many drivers would hang up, call again, or even be cycled thru multiple ques. Now (hopefully) much of that will be reduced, making it easier for drivers to get thru the waiting process sooner.
They changed all the extensions again yesterday, so much of what you may have known, isn't any more.
They are still setting up the department ques. Right now (or at least last night) if you punched in 1380 for the after midnight run, you ended up in the general que. But that's suppose to be fixed now. BTW, the new extension for after midnight is 2620. Instead of waiting, you can just punch that in and go directly to Lisa.
A warning to everyone, tho. While everyone is suppose to have voice mail set up, those that answer the phones in night operations do not have the time to retrieve voice mails. The system is very cumbersome and time consuming. If you are trying to reach a particular person such as Jonathan in produce, VM might be ok. But night operations persons just don't have time to go thru and retrieve vm's. So if you leave one for me, as an example, it might be the end of the night before I retrieve it.
There are still some bugs to work out, but last night was the first night and it seemed to work 10x better than this past weekend.
Of course, it still doesn't address the problem of trying to fit too much merde thru the funnel on weekends, but if they get the bugs out, hopefully it will be better for all of us.TRKRSHONEY, Dryver and Knew B. Wannabee Thank this. -
BTW, the driver line (and the ONLY line drivers should be callin in on) is 800-527-7094

Well and truly screwed in trucking fashion. With two weeks to plan and almost constant communication and a home time date of 12/9 I will br getting home on.....12/13 if I am lucky. I even threatened to secure the load at the KW dealer and got nowhere. So I have to deliver this load to the other side of IA, and of course I can't DH home from there, so I repower a driver in SD going to Cedar Rapids I think, probably Target, then I get to go home. Remind me again why I wanted to get back into trucking? Well, at least the miles have been above average, 2975 the first week and I haven't added up this week but I ran up and down in the NE and then ran this 1400 miler and will get another 350 ish from the repower. I forget, do they pay the DH miles going into the house or out of it? Or did they do away with that all together?

i sorta feel sorry for all the drivers who have no idea this forum even exists at least the ones here know why the phones are screwed up now thanks to emuls status reports. im glad i knew about this place before i ever went to stevens and now i just like seeing all the stuff im glad im not dealing with anymore. but the place i went to is screwed up too just slightly different issues.
nascarchuck and TRKRSHONEY Thank this. -
got into the office tonight just to find out they changed everything again.
amongst the 'truely new and innovative' changes? (other than extensions)
If you get transferred to safety, produce, etc...it rings back in 30 seconds if not picked up.
No body knows what extension to anyone is anymore. But don't worry! It will change again tomorrow!
So everybody...get ready for the infamous gandy dance to nowhere.
An no matter how screwed up things seem to be? We're doing this to serve you!TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.
