Cant help you on the airline/bus question, but if they still use Crosslands for the school motel there is a Dollar Store, grocery store, 1 or 2 fast food restaurants and even a laundromat within walking distance. Im not saying they are around the corner but you can walk as many of us did. I heard that there is a shuttle that will take you to WalMart but I cant say for sure. Crosslands rooms have a small fridge, stove and microwave so you can buy food at WalMart, etc and cook it in the room.

If you happen to stay at Americas Best (although you probably wont so count your blessings!) there is a Kroger across the street, WalMart across the Frwy along with a ton of fast food joints.

Yes you can get a bus ticket from Stevens
Everything is in walking distance from the hotel, Stores and restaurants, your hotel has a small Kitchen.
I' am there right now for a refresher course 1 week left, Trainer are very Professional don't show up late, If you don't have your CDL try and do as much as possible before you get to Stevens the more you have to retake those test at The DPS the more you will miss out on the hill, and driving on the streets A lot of people can't
Handle the pressure of everything that is given to them in the short amount of time,Study, and you will be Drug tested, if your not clean don't show Up.

If you already went to school and have your CDL you will probably stay at Americas Best. Everything you need within walking distance. Also, if you get in good with the person driving the shuttle van they will probably take you where ever you need to go. Actually, if you have a few spare days with nothing going on, sign up to drive the van. Pays a little extra and aint a bad gig. You take the van to the motel with you so you can stop by Walmart or whatever.

Been there done that. Today I was upshifting to reenter the highway at a rest area and between 6 and 7 I flipper the range selector down, then was amazed at the grinding sound.

I think saturday was the worst day for phone backups. I know we exceeded 2 hours for quite a while.
I had the pleasure of calling in on thursday to reach the insurance department. I ended up in the driver's que twice!
It would appear that no matter what extension you dial, if that person is busy, you end up in the drivers que.
I had three customers end up in the que over the weekend. None were happy!
I asked each to please call management on monday and tell them. These were three larger accounts.
Please...any chance you get, email or QC a statement about the phones. Be specific. Recall exact details, i.e.,
"I was on hold for 47 minutes before getting picked up. I asked for produce and after a few rings, it bounced back to the drivers line. I was on hold another 15 minutes before the same person answered, apologized and put me back to the produce department....12 minutes later, the same person answered again. I never did reach produce."

While the general driver's line has a que, produce and meat do not. So when you call and choose meat, it rings to the general driver line. If the phones in meat are free, you may get thru, but often the meat dept takes their phones off line so they can get something done.
I have begun sending people to specific desks. Yesterday, one of the meat persons that I had been sending calls to, came and said "don't send me any more calls! I can't get anything done!"
Management needs to know this, but they don't want to hear from us.
Please get those emails and QC's coming!

    TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.
