Last time I came off home time back in Dec, I got a call the last night asking if I could do a repower. 250 miles, deadhead, 100 to final. I say sure, deliver it to Whole Foods in Landover, takes.my entire 14 to get it done. I get parked with 4 minutes left. Get a call later... can you help us out...sure run that load to Walmart DC... park and get another.call... can you help us out... not a chance, two days and I have about 500 miles.

Sometimes you have to put your interests first.

No, that's not true. If we call more than two hours in advance, we almost ALWAYS get a new appt within a couple hours of our new arrival.
Communication is the name of that tune.
I ran dedicated to and from that facility and NEVER had a problem. The people there worked fine with me. I didn't rely on the inside crew to do the calls. I made them myself. I'd simply tell them I was running four hours late due to weather, traffic or whatever. They'd take me pretty much as I arrived most of the time.
There are other Americolds that are a PIA, but I gotta say that one is pretty darn good.

Hubby & I were L/Os and never got repowers when we were ahead of a load. It's the trainers (Alliance OR Company) that usually get the 5-star treatment. We have also been burned on repowers more times than we can count, so don't feel like you are the only one. How would you like to be running as a TEAM and get less miles per week than a lot of SOLO drivers?? That is why I say we WERE L/Os.

Well, the time has finally come!! Time to make our FINAL TRIP to the yard. We delivered this a.m. in San Antonio, picking up in Austin @ 0230 and taking the load to the yard. Should be on our way HOME by Monday afternoon. Hubby starts with a new company the 25th on a Regional run that will have him out 5-6 days then home for 2, GUARANTEED. Plus he will be home EVERY Thanksgiving & Christmas, no more of this 'pick which holiday & we will TRY to get you there' BS. I will be going back to work at a Call Center where I will work a set 40hrs per week leaving plenty of time to spoil the grandchildren.

So, we would like to bid you all a fond farewell and wish God's Blessings upon you.

Best of luck to you both TRKRSHONEY, you sure you are going to be able to sit still for 40hrs a week? LOL.

Thanks for all your input, advice, and suggestions and hope will stop by from time to time and visit.

Well, the sitting still will be no problem after sitting in truck for hours on end, LOL. Biggest problem I foresee is that we have been together 24/7 for the last 4 1/2 yrs, now we will be apart for 5-6 days at a time.

I will definitely be 'popping in' from time to time, once diesel gets in your blood it's hard to get rid of. I miss the road already, and we haven't even turned in the truck, LOL.
