Canada talks are to make sure you have the right paperwork and it's faxed to the broker, as well as procedures to cross. If you've been to Canada a couple times (or picked up Canada loads) you are familiar with the procedures.
You'd be surprised at the problems we get with loads (shippers error, not drivers), and when crossing the border, all T's have to be crossed.
The message is automatic and can only be turned off by Safety after the talk.
If you know what you need, just send a Mac 52. They will call.
Management is in the process of trying to hire several more safety persons to add to staff, principally to address this weekend/night issue.
I wish I could tell you there was light at the end of the tunnel...and there is....but it's a long tunnel right now. -
Well I got through to safety this morning and was told "I don't do Canada talks, you are going to have to call this afternoon. SMH
Corporal_Clegg Thanks this. -
So, you don't do Canada, the load will be repowered, but you still have to listen to someone talk about something you won't be doing.

Sitting just short of Chicago in the I55 truck stop. Can anyone tell me anything about the fulton street market area? I looked at this reciever on the map and it dont see an actual dock. just roll up doors and the roll ups look shorter than 13'7" also looks like a lot of one way streets getting in and out Also, some dumb #### got himself and my truck sprayed at the truck stop I was at last night. Guess he was doing a pretrip on his tractor and the little critter took up residency under my truck and he startled it. Swear to god t wasnt me lol I am not the one wearing eau de skunk on my clothes, however my tractor reaks of it. ANy suggestions or getting the smell off/out of my cab. Spent 50 bucks at the truck wash this morning and no joy on getting rid of the smell. The old christmas tree air freshener isnt helping much either, just smells like christmas tree with a skunk in it. FML

The driver that picks up the load needs to put the stevens border crossing stickers on the paperwork, and fax the paperwork to the broker... I always did it at the shipper, as they would fax the paperwork for me. Then I would send a message to safety stating what I had accomplished.Dryver Thanks this.

That is what they told me and what I did... so my question is why did I need to spend approximately 2 hrs over a two day period listening to a ringing phone, receive a total of 12 messages telling me to make the call that I was making, get told call back back not once but twice, when they could have just sent the instructions over the qc and been done with it.
What a cluster####TBT 5150 and nascarchuck Thank this. -
Get a quart of white vinegar, add 1/2cup of baking soda and a squeeze of dish detergent. Put in a spray bottle and have at it. It is the acid in tomato juice that neutralizes the smell and white vinegar does the same thing. If you can't get baking soda don't worry about it, the vinegar alone will make a big difference. This also works well cleaning your cab after traveling with a trainee!
You are lucky that I happen to have Martha Stewart riding shotgun today, aka the wife.jomar68 and TRKRSHONEY Thank this.
