I am stopped in Ohio hoping that storm doesn't pin me down too long...

    I.would.be heading right into it.

Oh and did I mention I am loaded down with 338 lbs of cargo? That should provide some good traction.

Question: What is slower than a Stevens truck?
    Answer: A Stevens Operations computer!

    you see...there we go again.
most drivers think the new phone system was to improve things.
Nothing could be further from the truth. It was installed to save money. By going VOIP, the company saves thousands of dollars monthly.
In the process of designing the new system, ownership did not listen to suggestions from the workers, but rather from certain management persons.
Those persons designed a system that caters to certain individuals and their wants.
As an example, why doesn't the prompt cue on the drivers line give you the option to go to Produce or Meat?
    Ding ding ding ding ding.....
Produce and Meat don't want to be bothered with phone calls! They have too much to do already!
So you get to sit on hold (now without Stevens Radio) and listen to a phone ring for heaven only knows how long. Then when you ask for Meat, you get sent to voice mail!
Or produce...after it rings an indeterminite amount of time, it ends back in the drivers cue where you hold forever again before someone you spoke to a half hour ago says, "Stevens operations. Can I help you?"
Gives a whole new meaning to the term: Circle Jerk!

    but don't worry folks....management isn't listening!

you know, i keep tryin to get my guy to take a look around here, because i have found so much truly useful information. but he is busy with dumb and dumber and i get the proverbial pat on the cheek that goes along with him sayin "now honey, dont you worry your pretty little head. i got this". i know he does. i just happen to be one of those old schoolers who firmly believe that the more you know, the more you know.
i have been lurkin on here since december, reading up and getting to know you guys, and gals, learning more than i thought i would and frankly, i am glad of it. you guys help. you help each other, you help yourselves, and you help a lurker girl keep her sanity.

Well, shot my day to hell. I'm still not loaded. If they take much longer I won't be able to leave. Gotta get back on the dock. Thawing out while they find more of the product.

I think everyone should put their next cell phone bill in their next trip envelope for reimbursement. Maybe get their attention.
