    APU works great, heater works....feels good after a cold PTI. Like now.

    Put in your six months and then go to work for a real trucking company.
    That is what 85-90% of stevens drivers do. They are a training company.
    All they are concerned with is getting you thru training so they
    Can move you to Alliance fleet. You can make. 32-.36 per mile plus bonus elsewhere
    And not put up with the bs at stevens.

    How exactly is Stevens not a real trucking company?

    Sometimes it's better the bs you know... I'm comfortable with my bs at this time.

    I'ved worked for 4 companies (including Stevens) and owned my own for nearly 20 years.
    You give some, you get some. It all depends on what you want and what you'll put up with.
    No one company is 'best'. It's only good for you (at the time).
    Trucking has changed over the years, and certainly not for the better.
    Fozzy sums it up...comfortable with the bs you know. When that changes...look around.

    Got a Tyson load going to Maine. That is one of the two states I haven't been to yet, North Dakota being the other. At first I was kinda jazzed but now that I've done some trip planning, not so much. Being lazy at heart, I don't prefer driving out my hours every day, but I can when I need to. The other thing I don't like is being forced to run at night, there is a reason they call it the danger zone. The real problem comes from trying to switch your sleep cycle at a moments notice. My load won't be ready until 1700 tomorrow at the earliest according to the guard shack. If I get rolling right away at that time I'll need to run well into the wee hours to get far enough into PA to have a shot at OTD at my first drop in NH on the 3rd, then if they get me unloaded before my 14 runs out I can go the 40 miles to my next fuel stop and shutdown so I can get up really early and drive up to Bangor for the next 2 drops. This means I need to stay up all night tonight and sleep during the day tomorrow. I'm willing to give it the old college try, but if I start nodding off at the wheel, I'm parking it.

    Drivers that run at night seldom get repowered if they don't want.

    I love an optimist but two things are against you . ^^

    I'd show up at 17:00 and then hit the bunk and have them wake you when it's ready. You will probably get your ten in before leaving.
