I am out $5.50 in tolls today. My load assignment got changed so I jumped.on the Muscogee TP in OK to get there. At the entrance at US69 you have to use exact change... $1.50, ok no receipt but it could be worse. So I drive on southward and get to the toll plaza $4.00... I give her a $5 and she gives me a dolllar back and a receipt. I start down the road, get up to speed all settled in, put the dollar in my wallet, start to put the receipt on my clipboard and I glance at it... I have a receipt for $1.50 and a two axle vehicle. No way Stevens is paying that one. I did call the TP Authority and complain, they were very interested to hear about it. Truck before me and truck after so no chance she handed me the wrong one... I hope her drawer is over when she clocks out or she will have some 'splainin' to do
Today's lesson... check receipt before pulling away from.booth.

Once a buzzard, always a buzzard.
Always welcome at the Aviary.
Didn't mean to diss you TLea. My mind was wandering over comments made by drivers (on the phone) along the lines of "this just isn't fair!"
Guess I should try and stay on point.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
no diss taken emu.
Just a totally different economic situation here, and there is a shortage of qualified people from mechanics, to drivers to managers.
And having been a manager of fast food in the past, I know a good manager does not reinvent the wheel, or try and do everything himself. Unfortunately that is what is happening here.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
life is not fair... It is what one chooses to make of it.
I have chosen to work to live, instead of living to work, making someone else look good. -
Made it to laredo yard, was told to drop my load and they would get me another to keep me rolling. Ok, I double check with DM, yes drop your load. So I send in the macro and get a call. I see you dropped your load. Yes, as I was told. Do you have hours to run? Not until midnight and after my 10 hour break, I was in OK this morning. That's not going to work, we'll need you to go ahead and deliver that load. OK, that was the original plan anyway.......
Could it have hurt them to figure this out befor all the run around? They can look and see what my hours are like.
Oh, and I got my first level one yesterday, logged it on duty, my DM wants to know why I was on duty? Funny, I thought I was supposed to be on duty? I think there is a reg about that, no? -
you did right.Corporal_Clegg Thanks this. -
Isn't there some kind of bonus for passing a level 1? I think there was three years ago, but I don't know if there still is. No one has mentioned it this time around.
-
No, you have it backwards... they bone us if we fail the level 1
Knew B. Wannabee, TRKRSHONEY and FozzyBear Thank this. -
