You will pick it up with no problem. -
We had several in my class at Stevens that had never driven a manual. It can be done but if you can get some practice in before you arrive it will help. -
Thanks everyone for the replies.

Mobile Transflo? Who do I need to talk to?

Just make sure you have a good camera in your phone or don't bother. They won't bother to let you know if your scan isn't readable.
I delivered my load last night then camped out for my break on the street there. Plenty of parking in that industrial center if your headed in there. We have several customer in there including Sygma and Kraft. Got up this morning looking for some more miles for this week. Can I repower a driver in Sacramento going to Vernon for tomorrow at 10:00? You bet. Throw me another 400+ miles.
On another note, do the "Planners" understand that they should be planning? Everyone knew I would be empty by 0300 this morning, but did they have me set up for a load? Not a chance. Do they not understand that "plan" does not mean to find something after a driver gets empty and starts bugging them? It means to work into the future. I know I'm going to have this same problem tomorrow, I'll empty out near downtown LA and have no idea which direction to head and no place closer than Ontario to go park. Which will probably end up being the wrong direction. This is not productive for the company and ends up costing me money. -
your gonna need at least a 5 megapixel cam on your phone according to the app the company im with just started doin it i downloaded the app but after seeing what all it wants to register with them i decided to just go use the one inside pilot.

Freight's been a bit light out of Cali the last couple weeks. They are planning just as fast as the loads hit the boards, but we've had more trucks than loads for the last bit, so there's been a lag time.
Be patient, grasshopper! -
Welp, my guy is 2 weeks in his grad. Dallas to Lubbock to Amarillo to Cali to AZ to Iowa where a single fly in the ointment (spelled c-e-l-e-r-y) resulted in Iowa to Chitown, where the address Stevens has for the receiver is slightly (6 years) out of date. Then it was Aurora to Denver, now Greeley to NY. I do believe he wept at the NY.
He thinks he has been hijacked by the night crew. If thats the case, we are both becoming more and more certain that TX is not where they want him to be. Hopefully that changes, since we live right off 20 and one reason we went with Stevens was the proximity to a major shipping lane. Since I have been "soft planning" taking my vacation on the truck with him this summer, I keep a close eye on whether or not he will be able to make it here to pick me up and more importantly, be able to get me back here when its finished. It wouldnt do to miss the boat on the cubicle money.
His miles look to be right about where he should be, not great but not horribad. I expect it'll pick up once he gets more miles under his belt and settles in. I hate the nickel and dime but its part and parcel of the package. Neither one of us expected him to make bank out of the shoot, luckily. I would be ok with it picking up a bit more tho. I would prefer to see at least three digits on the left side of the decimal, you know?
Side note... if the transflo mobile app is anything like the chase mobile app, it wont matter how good your camera phone is, the picture gets distorted by the application. New technology is new. Better to wait until their technology debugs a bit. I may be a bit resentful of the fact that I cant deposit my check with a picture just yet. Of course, its probable that the issue isnt the app, its the user. :T
