I am glad I am not leasing... I came off home time 10 days ago... in those 10 days I have driven 3900+ miles, so no complaint there... 1500+ of them have been deadhead. Not sure what the fuel surcharge is this week, but it would suck not to be getting it on 40% of my miles.
But as a company driver, no complaints, it keeps me moving.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Not sure if it was an April Fools joke but they said that if your deadhead miles is over 10% for the month they will pay you the deadhead miles on it lol

okay, then ask to see the ECM report, and if stevens won't supply one, go to the nearest kenworth, and have them download and print out an ECM report for you. It will cost you about $100, but may save you in the long run. Now just remember, the ECM report will be off on Fuel mileage by about 10%. so if the life time average is 7mpg, actual is closer to 6.3. It will be amazing how much information is in that memory for the engine.TRKRSHONEY and Corporal_Clegg Thank this.

as a former alliance driver, when they wanted me to do a long deadhead, I always requested the fuel surcharge for the deadhead miles. And I got it more times than I was denied. Now a long deadhead was considered over 300 miles. Under 300 miles I would get laughed at.TRKRSHONEY and Corporal_Clegg Thank this.

Just my last two alone were over 300... Denver to Lexington... Emporia to Dakota City.
From Lexington I delivered to Emporia... loaded and dh miles were very close. LOL
Like I said not a complaint, after a 600 mile dead head followed by a 3300 mile cross country run with less that 1800 lbs, and only 300 after the first 400 miles. I have gotten used to running light and mt.Last edited: Apr 4, 2013

I am in a 2010 T2000 with a Cummings and I got a call from the fuel dept last fall and was told to forget about progressive shifting. They told me to shift low range at 1450 and high range between 1500 and 1600 rpms. They said this will provide the best fuel mileage for this engine configuration. Get it to top speed as quickly as possible and run it at 1370rpm, which coincidentally is 62mph, so I pretty much run it flat out when ever I am on the big road.

Sitting at the T A in Troy with trailer brake issues. Yesterday I slid the tandems to the rear at Kraft no problem. Go back this morning to pick up the load and the trailer brakes won't lock down. Tried adjusting them but the wheels keep turning. Not a slider problem, I can slide if the wheels are chocked. This tells me they aren't working. Mechanic agrees. Waiting on Stevens for approval, think they want to replace the brake chambers. It's a 9700 series trailer and road rescue says they see this a lot on the older trailers.
This load is supposed to be in Cheyenne by tonight, but my flux capacitor is on the fritz as well. -
So what kind of fuel mileage are you getting? And do you track it yourself or do you go by sensortracks?
I got a reply back this morning and i feel much better. My email was forwarded to a Mr. K Eggen who apparently is our Director of maintenance now. I dont think I had heard of him before. He said to get back to the yard and he will resolve all my issues with the truck. So after a couple days at home Ill be requesting a trip to the yard again. uggg. But it has to be done. I cant make money like this.Emulsified, TRKRSHONEY and Dryver Thank this.
