Tennessee also has State Troopers running the I-75 in a semi, looking for drivers using their phone w/o a Bluetooth. If they spot you, they call ahead to another trooper in a car to stop you and give you a ticket.

Its not regulated at all. It is built into the contract.

Those sneaky bastages!!! In Indiana, along the western end of the Turnpike, they have a Red Mustang with black stripes... SS type car that is an undercover bear. Three or four times i have seen it with 4 wheelers pulled over.

The main use for the rig in Tennessee is to catch 4-wheelers texting & driving!!! It's been all over the news here. Hubby & I saw it at the scale house in Knoxville, good looking truck.

Well now, that was a fun ride on 80 today in Wyoming... I am in Rawlins... the last hundred miles were a mixture of snow, sleet, 65mph wind gusts, and next to nothing visibility. Of course I started this run in New Jersey and early on in PA hot torrential downpours and nickel sized hail so I guess it's fitting.

    Come on Summer...

I've always been told diesel was 8 lbs a gallon. Almost all states are up to 12500 on the steers according to my MC atlas. I got a green light from the open scale in ohio yesterday, had to go over the scale in Indiana, was under gross but still over on the drives, but they sent me on my way and the Illinois scale was closed. I skipped my fuel stop in IN, and had to add fuel in IL as my red light had started flashing at me. I sticked my tanks and on paper I could have made it to final, but I'm taking a 34 here in Granite City and didn't want to have to fuel in the middle of it to keep the APU running. Anybody in the area I'm in the bobtail parking at the J.

I really dont understand the meat patch. Why dont shippers ship meat say from Nebraska to Michigan, instead of Southern California to Michigan. It makes aboslutely no sense. Waste like this its no wonder stuff in the store is so expensive. Sure it gives us miles to run, but it just baffles me with everyone pinching pennies including big business, why this practice goes on

It's the same logic that says we'll haul beef from Holcomb to LA, then pick up beef in Brawley haul it to Maryland. And don't forget all the beef out of Pasco WA that goes east, just to pass the trucks heading west from Dodge City, going to Seattle.
Did I mention hauling pork from Iowa to South Carolina, then picking up pork in N Carolina to haul to California?
And can't Walmart find a bakery west of the Mississippi that can bake rolls? Haul them all the way from Long Island to Los Angeles!
    No..it doesn't make sense.

In California, I've noticed the CHP using binoculars to look at oncoming traffic. Presumably to catch people on their phones illegally.
