I love the coast to coast weeks. I just parked in Portland for a morning delivery started out last Wed from a repair shop in Newark NJ, dead headed to Lancaster PA picked up a load for Ogden, repowered it in Evanston, WY and took a load to Boise, repowered it in Boise and now I am in the Portland area 9 miles from final. Along the way I have had torrential downpours, hail, sleet, snow, high winds, and sunny skies without a cloud in them. This is why I love OTR driving.

Hit a one minute hail storm coming across Missouri a couple days ago. On my way to Los Lunas. Sitting in Tucumcari, don't need to leave until mid day for a 1600 delivery. Guess I drove too far yesterday. Saw a billboard for a tattoo shop on the way into town, my wife has been wanting to get her first and I have had a new one in mind for a while so we went by. There is some limited truck parking and the artist Frank is very cool. The name of the place is Smokin. They have a couple bill boards on the way in on US 54 and they are just a bit to the west on old highway 66 next to a dollar store.

 

Sorry, but I'd take Red Vines any day over Twizzlers.

Hershey does in Il. Both when dropping an empty and picking up a load two days later. Wind is very bad here in the truck hating Village of Los Lunas, NM. Gonna be empty and the closest safe haven is 13 miles away.
