Standard procedure for ALL LA produce warehouses. And it sucks with multiple picks.

Must have been waiting on Product or waiting for it to cool... I picked up 6 skids there 10 days ago and was in and out in an hour. It was 10pm when I got there though so I am sure they had time to get it all organized and ready. Actually all three of my picks that day, one in Oxnard and two in LA were like that. Got to the first about 4:30pm.

Maybe it is just better to pick up later in the day to if possible.

Tell them "Hop in we can talk on the way to Vegas, but you've got to find your own way back"

stuck in Knoxville, TN... Was on a So Plainfield NJ to Laredo, TX load, Due monday. got into Knoxville yesterday on 40 and began to lose power, coasted to roadside and got on phone with R/R originally thought the loss of power was something to do with low oil pressure, although oil level was decent not full but just below that. couldn't think of anything..got a Critical Brake failure PM but didn't follow up on that until later. as we are deciding to try to move the truck 10 miles back other way to TA, truck wouldn't move, idled fine, no lights or alarms.

noticed smoke coming from rear drive tire area, thought it was just due to wet roads and hot tractor, but as i got out and walked around truck while on hold with rescue, discovered the picture attached. the entire axle was sliding out of the hub/ brakes were now exposed, fluid was all under the trailer. and the lug nuts were showing stress fractures on almost all of them, most lug nuts were cracked. when the wrecker showed up, he mentioned i i was lucky that i lost power because that super single was on its way completely off. he could literally shake the tire with 2 hands almost could take it off while still attached. Towed to TA yesterday, still here at the super 8 they wont be even getting to truck until tomorrow. who wants to bring me an empty and take this Laredo Run the rest of the way....LOL...
seriously though i thank god that the truck loss power and i had to stop, they said the power loss and oil pressure drop was due to the drive being separated so it stopped turning the wheel. I don't even wont to imagine what would have happened under load with that tire coming off, roads were wet, the weather was pretty crappy in TN yesterday. Ya'll be safe.

Any dispatcher that wakes me while I'm on break will be held responsible for me not making otd if I cant get back to sleep. I turn the volume off on the Qc when I go to bed. I have never missed an appointment through my own fault. Not to mention getting an earful for it as well.

Just dawned on me... it was a year ago tonight... by the day not the date, that I took that first shuttle ride from The Crosslands to the Yard for the first class. There were 32 of us. 8 of us graduated on time three weeks later, another 4 the weekend after. It would be interesting to see how many are left. I place money on two others.

Its been a hell of a week, took a 34 at home in Colorado Springs, ran up to benton to repower a load to Cheyanne, Was a drop trailer, so took my empty went and repowered again in burns going to Cedar Falls, then off to Columbus Junction for a load going to Los Angeles, Got my surprise wake up for a repower going to Sac, headed off to do that, then got asked to repower going back to Cheyanne, with my hours I was gonna make it, but when I got to the repower, the trailer I got had a set of burned up and below 1/4 inch brakes, had to go get it fixed, this now put me to where I was only gonna be able to get the load into the receiver but not out of it on my 70. Got 83 miles into Wyoming, then got turned around to Ft. Bridger to go repower yet again, this one headed to Woodburn OR. Had 4 hours left on my 70 so I went ahead and shot up to Trementon Utah and had 35 mins left on my 70 after PTI. Getting nothing back tonight but 9 hrs back Tuesday and 5 on Wednesday. Loads not due till Thursday morning, woot, just debating on going ahead and running my recap cuz I have a really good recap coming back this week or go ahead and sit it out for an additional 6 hours and run on a fresh 70. Im leaning toward the recap cuz prolly get sent out of OR to Cali for produce as I hear freight in WA and OR has been slow. Gotta love running repower even for those short hops of 400-700 miles, it all adds up and can really dig you out of a bad week. Originally I was looking at only having 1300 for the week, but now am scanning 2500 total and have a good run of recap coming up. Special thanks to the night weekend crew, they pretty much kept me running.
