Just listen, and learn everything you can. Practice every chance you get. Learn to trip plan with an Atlas and dont rely on a GPS.

Thanks...Changing careers, so quite a bit of questions. Lucky to have people to ask questions and get good answers.

Keep your focus on your goal. There will be days when you will second guess why you ever thought this was a good idea. In the classes, pay attention, out on the yard and the streets, practice, practice.

    Hi everyone...

Have heard people mention "repower". What does it mean? Thanks.

It is when a load is handed off from one truck to another.

Just to clarify about the permit CDL tests, they prefer you have the permit tests complete when you get to class the first day if possible. If not, then they want you to complete your permit tests by the third day of training the first week, as driving training on the hill starts at that time. Get those tests done by then or you will lose precious driving practice time. I figured it up to about 5 hours total of actual behind the wheel driving during the three week academy, you will want every bit of that. I started the academy in September and am now in Grad Fleet going Pre-Alliance.

Have a question about "Stevens Radio". Is that being actively updated. I've heard some good information on there, but when I hear congratulations going out to the Trainer of the Month for May 2011, it makes me wonder.

Major keeps it updated, but much of the stuff is recycled. He's always available to hear your comments and suggestions.

More questions... I see that other companies have terminals across the US. Does Stevens have those also, or just the main terminal/HQ in Dallas?
