Stevens has a few drop yards around but only one terminal.

I live in the Phoenix area, pretty close to Interstate 10. I see Stevens trucks going through here often. Would that make it any easier to get hometime? Also, is Stevens pretty firm on 5-6 weeks out at a time? Thanks.

Unless you go Alliance, then you can get home more often, if you choose. It's just that you still have your truck expenses while you're sitting at home.

Is it (realistically) possibly to make 800-1000 dollars a week as a company driver for Stevens? may be starting there on the 18 as i have 7 years under my belt.

No, not realistically. Stevens is a training company. They don't pay what other companies pay. Plus, they don't pay actually miles. I quit them after a year, partly the pay and partly home time. Living in Oregon, it was always a hassle trying to get home when I wanted. I now work for a local LTL company. Making .39 a mile, plus drop pay, and I'm home at least one day a week, sometimes two. If I want to do a turn and burn, I can. Making more $ here than I did as a company or Alliance driver for Stevens. And I see my family more!

Ouch they made it sound on phone quite reasonablemble. I asked because I worked for central r a year and I never net anything less than 750 that whole year. I left with notice for personal family medical conditions. I can be rehired I kinda just liked the equipment a lil better that Stevens has.

Yes it is realistic. Thats 2500 - 3300 miles a week. Your not going to make that right off the bat. But once you prove yourself it is realistic. As an Alliance Driver I made that and more solo.

He asked about as a company driver. It is going to depend on what they are starting you at. Are they giving you credit for your previous experience or starting you at .26 per mile? We got plenty of miles, but it's easier to rack up the pay at .32 say.

    newlife1966 and LongHaulBoi55 Thank this.

Appreciate the response, yes they are giving me credit for the 7 years. And starting me at that rate I believe it was 33 or 34. Just was wondering because I know you have your grippers in every bunch. But I'm not one. I take the good with the bad. Just didn't want to make A awful decision if you no what I mean being that I hav 7 years with no accidents nor tickets the whole time.
