Lets see, there is a toilet to pee in, a bath to clean yourself in, a bed to sleep in, a place to study, a place to prepare food and a surface upon which to place your behind to eat it. A truck will have a bed to sleep in. Everything else will come from outside the truck. The schools see hundreds of bodies per week. No one says you absolutely have to live on campus, or at the hotel they provide (in Dallas), but they wont foot the bill for your room and board if you do not choose to stay there.
Seems to me you may be more worried with how you are going to be spending your time off the yard than what you need to function and succeed on the yard. If the living conditions offend your sensibilities, buy a bottle of Lysol and a can of Febreeze and start sprayin.DenaliDad and Emulsified Thank this. -
No not really I just had a thought in my head were it was a hotel room with two or three students in a room not a Military style.

It's not really that bad, plus you at $150 for the 3 weeks of school up there you won't find better for the price. Plus as flue said the truck is a bed and that is pretty much it.
You are up early and at the yard by 7 am and back at around 6pm so you eat and study for a bit then bed. The beds had new mattresses when I was there in Nov, or fairly new. The kitchen has all you need to cook and store food. There is a grill outside if you feel like having a cookout and several restaurants and stores within walking distance. There is also a motel which was $35 a night at the beginning of Dec. All in all a good school to learn enough to get your cdl and get to Dallas. You will stay at America's Best in Garland and spend even less time in your room there. Oh two to a room there. Be prepared for long days and short nights because that will be the norm till grad fleet for the most part. Good luck, enjoy and learn.Corporal_Clegg Thanks this. -
Ok Thank you drake now I am go have to save money and see where the Labor board is going to pay for it here in Delaware if not CO here I come.

In Dallas during school you stay at Crosslands. I heard people complaining about the place but I didnt have any problems. You share a room with one other person. Our room was decent sized and was clean. The only issues that I had was that its a fairly long walk to get to the store or laundry. Also it seemed that the cops or fire department was there at least once a week.
After school it was Americas Best. Once again you share a room with one person in a decent size room. Americas Best is (was) a dump. Rooms and lines were dirty and rooms were in need of repairs. If your room faces west in the summer in the room gets pretty warm. Plenty of restaurants and WalMart within walking distance. -
Sorry but I do expect a reasonably clean room. I expect bed sheets without all types of nasty stains on them and wash cloths without what appeared to be pubic hairs from a previous guest. This is one reason that I say Americas Best is a dump!agreentrucker86 Thanks this.
