Right on. You can definitely make some money teaming. Most of my 14 years of driving I did team. You have to really like/love your co-driver!

wow Clegg, I just finished reading your thread over at truckingtruths. That is all the inspiration I needed. Stevens here I come! One question, do they have me fax them my driving report or do they get it themselves? Just wondering if I need to run out tomorrow and get one.

lol my last response was flagged for spam...?

Certain word combinations trip the spam censors. It keeps most of the spam out, but also periodically blocks legit posts too!

Whoa dude, your the one thats confused. Stevens is NOT Team Driving. Unless you want to team drive with your spouse, they dont even encourage team driving. You can team drive if you find someone to team with, but dont count on that happening. Most people dont want to team anyway.
Once you get through the training, and do at least 60 days solo, you are allowed to sign on with a lease if you want. Then after at least a year as a LO, you can sign up to be a trainer if you want to.
Not sure about the work history req, but they do not like gaps of unemployment. If you are drawing unemployment, it is NOT considered a gap though lol. Also, they are funny about you getting terminated from a job in the last 3 years. Be upfront about it with the recruiter if you have been termed, and the reason why. They do a VERY in depth background check and verify ALL employment back 3 years. They will also want a 10 year history also, but they only verify the last 3 from what they told me.
They will pull an MVR themself, no need to go get one. One suggestion I have. Go to your local DMV and ask them to check if you have a suspended license from any other state that would keep you from geting a CDL. I know you may think this unnecessary, but I saw several people in school that had problems they had no clue about. One example .. guy lived in WI, and got a ticket in FL 5 years ago. He paid the ticket and a year latter moved to NJ. FL never told WI that the tix was paid so he had a suspention from WI on his record. He ended up having to wait a week before he could take any of the CDL tests and it put him behind in the class.
Im glad you liked my post over there. It was hard putting that into words. -
right on, i called dmv the other day and its valid. Thanks for the insight

Get your facts straight.
Stevens is NOT team driving. (unless you want to)
What you may think of as teams is the trainers with students. After you have finished training in both O1 and O2, you are sent out solo.
There are a few husband wife teams with the company, but they are unusual. Other than training, drivers are solo. -
Stay far far far away from CRST. All companies have their pros and cons, I went to class with Corporal Clegg, and we can both tell you, its not for everybody. We started with 23 people and graduated like 6. (from the original class) So far my experience has been good with Stevens. Currently in Clermont, FL just got pre-planned to Tracy, CA with a HEAVY juice load!

well stevens is not hiring out of California right now, I dug up some good threads and talked to some c/d that work for CRST and are satisfied with them as a started company. Either Prime, or CRST... we will see.
