Can't imagine why your miles were so low as a team. Hubby and I run teams and are rarely below 4500 per week, had a few bad weeks in Jan/Feb, but that is the norm for most trucking companies, still got almost 3000 those weeks. We also put out some apps cause we are planning on leaving when the lease is up, no problem with Stevens replying to the companies. A lot of it must have to do with which DM you had.

A lot will depend on how long it has been since you have driven. If you have been out too long, you will need to go through the school, if not, you will simply go through Orientation and out with a trainer. You will sign a one year contract and can leave at that point and get a job pretty much anywhere you apply. Most of the 'complainers' on here did not even stay their full year. You can definitely make money with them if you are willing to run. We have many solo company drivers that have been with the company for 10yrs, 15yrs, etc. You can chose to go Alliance/lease and make more money and have more freedom concerning your routes, time-off, etc. And of course, as a trainer you can essentially double your income.

I will share my experience, I had my CDL for 5 months (No experience) before going to Stevens in 08. I was not required to pony up and go through refresher or the full course. I went out with a Phase 1 trainer for 5 weeks, than Phase 2 trainer for 3 weeks. I did the Grad Fleet and went Solo. All in all I stayed at Stevens for a total of 7 months, when I left I was only making 28 cpm. I went to another company who is not a Training outfit and started at 38cpm pulling a dry van NOT a pesky reefer. Quite a few drivers are comfortable with the pay scale at Stevens, so be it. I found out that the grass is greener on the other side. I am currently at 43 cpm.

I still call BS. Stevens doesn't have ANY trucks with payments in the $700's. Highest payment is $680 and that is only recently.
If you're leasing with Alliance, they don't 'sell the truck from under you'. You have a lease on that truck, but it may have a mileage clause where you will give it up when it hits 500,000.
Alliance doesn't send out any trucks over 400,000. Those go into the grad fleet.
350? possibly. but no one surprises you.
What you are relating sounds suspiciously like a grad fleet driver that wasn't cutting the mustard, and was routed back to Dallas to sell the truck.
You were not Alliance...maybe PRE Alliance.
Too many discrepencies in your fairy tale of woe.
It's just a pile of BS.
If you didn't like Stevens for any reason, just say so. Fairy tales aren't needed.TRKRSHONEY, TLeaHeart and Auditor1 Thank this. -
lol kind of funny you say all that BS!!!! you have no clue what yr talking about 680$ is close enough to 700 to call it that...2 i did do pre allince as well in a t2000..was not bad went to allince div with a older 387 pet....payment was 500 or so a week LIKE I SAID DID PRITY GOOD!!!! Glad you'r happy where you're at.
Everyone has to stumble a bit in this business until they find the right fit.
No company is right for everyone.
You started out saying they raised your payment to $800.
Now you're saying $700
Three years ago? the maximum payment was $620 for a Pete. The T2000 was a bit less.
So where's the truth? If you can't get this part right, I can't believe anything else you say.
No veracity. Just vitteral and callous lies, innuendos and rants.
It's BS and you know it is.
Go find a truckers coffee counter where you can spout your lore.
Because it's nowhere near to the truth.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
He wasn't an employee until he was cleared to drive and offered a job. The hold for BP was not their problem and the problem with the permit was also not the companies fault, they cannot hire someone who does not have a legal license or permit.

Truck payment of $560 plus all other fixed costs are close to $800. And many call all fixed costs the truck payment. And yes Stevens can and does sell a leased truck with over 400,000 miles out from under a leesor. But my contracts stated that they had to provide a like or newer truck for the same base payment. Now yes my total fixed costs went up, insurance, and the addition of an apu. Stevens honored the contract. I do know drivers that were upset when "their trucks" were sold.
