My point is....................
if everyone continues to accept lower wages, where does it stop....
But I see your point,,,,,,,
good luck !!!!
Maybe in 10-20 years, you could make 30 cents a mile !!

I know where you're coming from. I would like to make a lot more than that, but it comes with time. I'm looking into becoming an alliance driver after some time, but once again. I'm taking it one day at a time.

Stevens is primarily a training company. They charge more for training you, and pay you less, but they train you pretty darned well.
After a year you're paid off and can go looking for higher paying positions with some of the best and safest training available, making you pretty darned desirable. -

Well, here I am in Carlin NV doing my 10.
Boy this place is hopping!
If you take the Pilot out of here, it only leaves the bar and post office.
I know, I know....I picked it.
Looked bigger on the map, tho.
Left Laramie this morning and couldn't get any further.
Well off to Tracy, CA tomorrow to set up for my 0400 delivery monday AM at Safeway.
Then who knows? Another load of onions? -
A bar and a post office, sounds like home.... oh laramie does have a university and more bars. Born and raised in Laramie.
But this time you must get all 53,000 -
yea, I grew up in a town like that. Only the name was apropo....Boring.
Yep....Boring, Oregon.
Right down the road from Zigzag, Rhododendron and Whemme.
When you get to Ounce o' Bpunce, turn left.
In Tracy tonight. Only 4 miles from my first drop..then 278 miles down to Santa Maria for the second.
Well, off for a shower.... -
Any of you guys intrested in moving on from stevens listen up . There's a great company out of denver co called furniture row express . They run mostly meat loads but get this , we don't sit in holcomb or liberal or any where in the meat patch , most of the loads we run are ready when we get there and we are paid practical miles ! Not stevens zip code to zipcode or line of sight mielage. We have a bunch of stevens drivers here because the opportunity to run the same thing you guys are running now but get paid more is to much to pass on . Hometime every 14 days , pass by home when your within 50 mile radius and it doesn't count as home time, no northeast or cali ever , no more route to dallas at all losing all kinds of driving time to saftey red tape . If you like to run miles , and get paid an honest wage you guys owe it to yourselves to at least look into it . Cmon stevens is a training company and no matter how long you've been there you are all treated the same . There's no express line at driver services for having more exp . , no rushing you through saftey talks to get you back on the road , you guys know what I mean by all the red tape . Don't believe the hype when they tell you there's nothing better out there , in fact , I received a letter from them asking me to come back to alliance and they'd give me a 1000 rehire bonus plus the 1600 sign up bonus . I can back up everything I say here . Email me at peto9466 at gmail dot com for more info . I don't have a gripe towards stevens , I just want drivers to know that there is better out there , we just have to find it ! Be safe !

I noticed that the Stevens Transport website is vague to say the least about alot of things such as,
Hiring Requirements for experienced drivers that are interested in getting hired on.
How many incidents and violations they allow a driver to get hired on and how many would disqualify a driver from being hired.
Hiring requirements in genral.
If there is any diffrence in pay for experienced drivers compaired to newbies that just got done training.
They dont tell anything about if a driver gets injured on the job.
They dont tell anything about tolls and if a driver is reinbursed for a toll on a non pre pass road.
Ive heard alot more good then bad about stevens transport over all, Sure some drivers always have a chip on thier shoulder when it comes to driver treatment and that is just how it is. If you dont do your job right or are late for loads or have a bad attitude/complain all the time and such things can happen and the driver gets the short end of the stick, Its just part of the trucking industry and besides its all in what you make of it
Personaly, Ive drove for 2 companies,
Werner - Witch i really liked, yea the equipment was junk for the most part but no biggie and the shop at the atlanta terminal left alot to be desired. I was always treated well with werner over all though.
and
covenant- I diddnt like it much exept for my dispatcher witch was the best one ive had yet and gave me good loads when i wanted to run and always had loads lined up for the weekends and the nights that i unloaded early and had time to run! That was pretty much the only good thing about that place.
None the less i did my job untill i got fed up with them and went back to werner untill i was injured.Last edited: Nov 24, 2010
