I kind of have all my eggs in one basket too. I am hoping everything goes good for the both of us. Lets just hope we can be one of the 20 that make through. I feel like I have been as honest as I can with my recruiter so I am hoping for the best, and looking forward to starting my career with Stevens.

So I decided to go to the houston campus and sign a 12 month contract is the training just as good at that location or is it recommended to go to dallas
-
The only facility Stevens has is in Dallas. Not sure where you are going in Houston. Also be aware that the one year is the commitment, but it take two and a half to fully pay off your school. If you leave after the year they want the balance immediately. So save up for it.
-
Thanks fozzy for the info. They also do training at the houston community college for people in the houston area. Do you see the ability to make decent money since you have gone solo or is it not as great as they make it out to be.

I just wanted to say that I just talked to a recruiter from Stevens Transport a week ago and didn't have much info on the company. Thanks to your threads I got the answeres I needed. Thanks again.

The money is there, but if you have a bunch of bills it doesn't last. If I had done this years ago when I had no house or car payments etc, I'd be rolling in it. Not, I'd probably just spend it all.
-
Well I let all my bills go I have no car payment no house note or rent my family just moved in with my mother in law so hopefully I can put some money away I'm looking to make $650+ a week at least is that possible with stevens
-
Well, during your 9 weeks or so of training you will be making $350.00 per week less taxes. Once you go solo they pay you as you go, you scan a trip in and 2-3 business days later you get paid. I think I had about $600+ hit my account this week. That's after taxes and deductions.
-
That's alright pay if u can take at least 6 a week home that's about what I need to start I'm also aware of the 350 but I just plan to use that as living on the road cash not planning to take care of any billls with that. Now from what I see from most of the angry post people quit before they make it to the solo part and go in with too high of expectations. I do want to make a lot of money but during my life I have never had a job that started with the top pay if you think about it 350 a week is more than min wage in texas and its only for 2 months then you get possibly double your salary. I don't know about those whiners but I'm very excited about my new career behind the wheel. Furthermore I'm 34 and have never been any further from texas than louisiana so seeing the country is exciting as well. I mean how often does it snow in houston

It's snowing here in Limon, CO. I-70 is closed and I'm supposed to be in Denver in the morning.
