As far as your driving record, they only ever ask you for three years. I had a ticket or two when I was young, but they don't care about that. As far as your driving record, they want your recent history of moving violations and accidents, your fault or not. I had one ticket for speeding just in June, but it won't show because I did what is called deferred adjudication. If I go until November without another ticket, it won't ever go on my record. However, I still listed it. I also had a fender bender in June of this year on private property which also shows up nowhere. The lady hit me, then filed against my insurance. My insurance company denied her claim and paid her nothing.

However, I still listed both issues on my application. It didn't stop me from getting in.

yea hunter that is a long long haul haha. makes mine feel short compared to urs. thanks boog for clearing up the app thing. ive got all my info wrote down in a notebook. im giving them all the same info on the app when i get down there they already have. i guess thats why they wanted my 3 refrence letters for my gap in employment history. i think stevens will see im a hard worker and im very determind person. i can do anything i put my mind to. hey boog on the refrence thing, are u sure its not four family and two friends. im pretty sure thats what my recruiter told me.

stevens never asked me for anything from the dmv. they asked me if i had any tickets in the last three years i said ya one in 08 and that was that. so when they looked my stuff up they must of been happy with it.

Stevens will not ask you for a lifetime MVR. They just want you to list the last 3 years I think. 5 at the outside. However, they will get a copy of your lifetime MVR. They do that when THEY do your background. Listen, one thing I want to caution you guys, and this goes for ALL companies-

When you initally apply, they only check your last 3 years of employment and your MVR to make sure you qualify. They don't actually do the background investigations until AFTER you pass the drug screen and physical. Think like a business. If you were running a business, you wouldn't want to spend unneccesary money on a prospective employee until you were more assured they were employable. The bus ticket is no big cost. They wait until you get there, have you fill everything out again, and then drug test and you and give you a physical before they do anything. Like me, I'm sure they didn't process my information beyond initially qualifying me because I didn't pass the physical.

Don't overthink this. You're not asking for a security clearance from the feds. You won't be curing cancer or working for the CIA. You are going to be a trucker. They just want to make sure you meet the DOT requirements so THEY stay out of trouble. Frankly, most large student-oriented companies don't care if you get into trouble. The line of people to take your place begins the next Monday.

If you've lived a fairly clean life, you have no DUI's or criminal comvictions, and you can pass a drug screen and physical, you WILL get a job. Last year, the company trained 845 students. They hired 845 students. That is why they qualify everything within the first few days of school. They want to know you meet the company standards before they train you. They WILL NOT train anyone who doesn't meet that standard. As in me. I meet all of the DOT requirements, but I take a medicine that THEY ALONE deem inappropriate. Therefore, I don't get trained until I meet the standard. You guys are worry warts!! Relax. Unless you hide something, you have nothing to worry about. You will refill out all the paperwork once you get there, and after your drug screen you will have an interview with a lady at the company named Janice who is really nice and goes over your app line by line to make sure it is complete. If there are any errors or omissions you've remembered in the meantime, you have one last chance to get it all correct, and they help you do it! After that, you're good to go. You can concentrate on your training and passing your CDL. They also have a 98% pass rate on the CDL test. And trust me, if you're in the 2% they don't think will pass, they will either reschedule you to start school over if they want you, or they will cut you loose. I saw several guys (whom you could tell just by looking at them they couldn't find their ### with both hands and a flashlight) escorted from the building in week 2 or 3 of school after they did an exit interview.

That other poster was right. If you want to work for them, you must have patience and be flexible. Just give them what they ask for, say yes ma'am and no sir, and you will be fine.

Can you folks tell me how long you waited to here back from Stevens after submitting an online application? I was pre-approved a while back but dragged my feet and was told by Stevens to re-apply because they only keep pre-approvals on file for 60 days. It's been about a week and a half and I have not heard anything. I guess I will give them a call. Thanks and good luck to all!

I would not intentionally leave anything off, I had filled out apps and been approved without putting it on there (to be honest I forgot about it), I'm now going to go back to those companies and let them know.
