I think it might have been orlando or north. Was he allowed to idle or did the truck have an apu?

Kinda depends on the trainer you get. Sounds like the lady who posted her husband had to sit in a rest area or whatever for two days got stuck with a jerk. There are a couple of things that COULD happen-

You can stay in the truck, which won't cost you a thing.

You can go to a motel, which is on your dime (probably). You might get a cool trainer who understands you are only making $350/week less taxes. I've heard of some cool trainers who pay for the motel to put their trainee up while they're at home.

In rare instances, I've even heard of trainers taking their trainee home and letting him sleep on a couch. Obviously, this was a rare case and one where the trainer and trainee got along really well.

Best case scenario is that your trainer likes to stay out and run. Then you don't have to worry about it. Worse case scenario is you stay in the truck, but hey-at least it's free. I would probably opt to spend a little cash and hit a Comfort Suites or somewhere I could at least get a free breakfast and a/c or heat plus TV. Especially if it was on a weekend, then I could watch baseball or football games!

In a perfect world, your trainer will give you plenty of notice that he wants hometime so that you can budget for a motel.

i recently went home with a student and he stayed at a motel here in miami, not a 5 star but better than the truck and stevens paid for it.

That's because you are a cool trainer! Even if all you did was give him a ride to the motel, you at least gave him options. Too bad there aren't more like you out there.

That's what I meant about "HAVING ALL OF YOUR PAPERWORK TOGETHER". They want every single blank filled. The more info you have with you, the faster the process. They don't hesitate about holding folks back!
