AGREE. Hard to survive on that. If you are married your wife better make a good income. I think the length of training is terrific, but that is some terrible pay. I bet a lot of trainees are already in debt to Stevens by the time they get their own truck.

This training program actually looks and sounds like an EXCELLENT training program.
Many occupations that have training programs do NOT pay you at all. When a person goes to school, does the school pay you to be the student? No, student pays the school to receive the education and instructions put out by the teachers and instructors.
Therefore, receiving $350 a week is NOT a bad deal for being the student.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.! -
One good thing I can think of (IF they honor it), as a PAID employee during the 12 weeks, once your training period is over you have completed your 90 day probation period...and eligible for benefits the day you get your own truck.
MidwestResident Thanks this. -
The school is not using your labor to deliver their load.Your also not employed by the schoolWhite_Knuckle_Newbie, TB John and MidwestResident Thank this.

You don't think 350.00 a week is bad.Think about it,thats 50.00 a day at 5..00 an hr.Its horrible pay considering what Stevens is making off that student not to mention the subsidy they get for what the government calls job creation.White_Knuckle_Newbie and MidwestResident Thank this.

What's sad is high school kids put trk driver trainees to shame with what they're making flipping burgers.Companies like stevens could care less who quits who gets fired, how much sitting they do,how many miles a week they get because they have all this subsidy money to compensate for their losses.Think about it,without the government's help do you think all these carriers would still be in business?Ive heard more then once for each person they bring in they receive 10 k whether the driver/trainee stays or not.Now how fair is that to the working class who are forced to support this crap?White_Knuckle_Newbie and MidwestResident Thank this.

Just a little off there Pattyj.
The student must complete training BEFORE stevens or any other trucking company gets a dime for training. And it is no where near 10k per student. much closer to $2.500 per student.

It really isn't. Just think of when you are finally solo and running your ### off. My biggest haul was over $900 before taxes. Made me wish I was Alliance at that time.
