Clothes off. They have you strip down naked and then give you some blue paper shorts to put on for the exam. If you have a scar, and he sees it, and you didn't list it on the form, you are terminated on the spot for falsifying. They consider ommissions the same as lying, and they will tell you that. I went ahead and listed mine because I have scars both in front below my belly button and down and on my lower back that are clearly visible. Stevens is very thorough. I've heard of one guy that had a broken arm when he was ten and they wanted him to explain it and get a release. (I guess he mentioned it on his form-not sure I'd go that far). Either way, they are going to probably catch you because DOT requires a shirt off physical min anyway. Most likely Stevens will require you to do the FCE like I have to. Sounds like you're in shape like I am, and I'm not worried about it. You also have to pay for it out of your own pocket-$150 cash.
If I was starting from scratch going there and I were you, I would call their doctor, get the info of the place they require it done at, and have it done ahead of time. Even if you have to come into town a few days early. Because otherwise, you will get put on med hold like me and you are done with class. This will delay you because they don't just do spot appts. Had I known then what I know now, I would have done the FCE with their person ahead of time. If you are out of state, you might ask them if they will allow you to do it with a therapist close to you. But be warned, they are very specific, and they have a list of certain things that they have trained their therapist to test you on. That is why I'm pretty sure they will only let you do it with their person. It's offsite. Hope that helps.

So if you had stitches back in 1985 you have to list it? I think most men, have some sort of scares that may occured during rough housin back in the day.

Should I ask my recruiter now, before I get there. Sucks I pay for a ticket to fly there and then some internet MD so you can't because you Johnson is bigger than mine....lol

I have many scars that are not related to surgery, he asks about them, I tell him what happened, and he moved on. I just had my re-certification physical and again had to explain the scar on my breast bone. It is not from an operation, but from being a kid, and a tangle with a barb wire fence.
Be honest about surgeries, drugs you take daily. The rest is non of his business. His nick name, Dr Feel Good.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -

Next year when you talk to Dr Feelgood about the scars, just tell him you got it from Christy. She stole my heart.

I had a surgery to repair my colar bone will I need a release from my Family Doctor I retire from the Navy in July I am not limited but there is a Huge scar -
A release from your doctor will mean nothing to Dr Feel Good. It is up to him if you will be accepted or not. And what ever tests he requires you to do. Stevens is self insured for workers comp, so they try and limit their risk.

i had open heart surgery when i was 6 months old i got for orientation on the 23 should i call the doc there and ask him what he will need before i come?

Stevens does not have a work well test... but anyone who has had heart surgery that I know of, has had to have a stress test, administered by Stevens doctors. A release from you doctor means nothing to them.
