no trip pak, we use pegus transfo, get paid 2 business days after we transfo, and we get a receipt, and can check on the web that they did receive the trip sheet. So that problem has been solved.

I have had very few problems with pay. Lots has changed in 11 years.

The transflo is done at Loves or Pilot truck stops. no internet access required. Any laptop with any aircard or wifi will work.

TLeaHeart or any other drivers, I'm strongly considering coming to Stevens. Fresh out of school, and nervous say the least. I'm not a young pup, getting ready to retire out of military and want to go with a company I can grow with.

Stevens is a good company which you and the company can grow together.

My own story will be helpful. I started at the company as a former computer consultant/business owner. Like you, I've paid (in my case directly) for my CDL training about $6,000. Stevens has reimbursed that money now. I went through orientation, training, second orientation, trainee teems (showing my age. It's now finishing training) and grad fleet which is 90 days of handholding.

I've gone from $350/week to .26/mile (about $700/week) to a lease operator making an average of over $1,000/week. All in less than two years. There are others that make more then me as they are more ambitious about this profession than I am. They like driving more, they like hustling more etc. Some have gone on to be owner/operators at and maximize their profit by maximizing their risk. stevens. I'm satisfied with what I'm making and at least 75% happy with what I do for a living. Remember, I'm a 9 - 5 guy who's looking forward to being a 9 to 5 guy again someday. However if you love this career, you'll love stevens (most of the time)

Just remember when you get here that when you arrive, you'll have a certain expectation of this or any other company that is probably higher than reality. The burger on the sign always looks better than the one in your hand.

Keep that in mind, risk a few ugly burgers and you'll grow and succeed not only at Stevens, but at any company with which you start. It's just that at Stevens, you'll get the best training, a detailed truck, and a great promise to grow to do anyting in the industry. Plus, i think the boss still has one unmarried daughter:)

So do you think you found a home at Stevens? Is the O/O thing as good as it is hyped to be or is leasing a better gig? Or how bout just being a company driver. I start orientation March 7. Any way I can improve myself and situation I am all ears!:biggrin_25526:

KCJ any decent Laptop will do. I don't recommend a mini netbook. Check with your cell phone carrier if you have a cell phone. Most of them have an aircard for internet access. Be advised that most have a 5 gig monthly limit. Not good for watching videos or working with large files.

Well That pretty much sums it up for me! Good post. Not a bunch of complaining going on and you tell it like it is for you. I start orientation March 7 and I hope my expectations meet your reality at Stevens. My only "hand wringing" if you will is whether to bite on the lease or not!:biggrin_255:

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about a mini notebook but have thrown that idea out since reading your post. I will look for decent laptop instead and check with my cell phone carrier for the aircard internet access. :biggrin_255:
