Questions from new drivers is where you need to go. It gives a great packing list, what to expect etc.

    Elsewhere in this forum.

    txbluerose,
I just finished Swift Academy - San Antonio today. If you have questions start a thread or join in on Gold Miner's "Diary of a New Swift Driver" at:
    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/swift/161004-diary-of-a-new-swift-driver.html
or send me a PM. You are in for a great experience with a group of exceptional instructors.

I highly recommend you pick up (or download) a copy of the Commercial Drivers Handbook from DPS and start reading. Read it over and over again. If there's something you don't understand, put a question mark in the margin. Your DPS written test will cover what is in that publication and over your first week Mr. Calloway will make sure you know and clearly understand every detail.

Read the threads here and especially pay attention to what the frequent posters who are Swift drivers have to say. Best luck to you.
    Frank

Don't you think that if someone had something questionable in their past that they tried to hide from an employer, the person in question would know about it? Then, when Swift finds out about it, they claim ignorance.

Your best bet, answer every single question candidly and clearly. If it's asked, don't leave it out. If you're unsure about something, ask your recruiter.

I have to agree with Injun. Everyone that got cut from my class 6 years ago was told exactly why they were being sent home. Even my son got sent home and he had been hiding something from his old man, and did not think Swift would find out about it, well they did, 2 days into the school. I was in the area so I stopped by to get him. LOL, they weren't going to let him go with me because he was no longer with Swift, but I had him as an approved rider at the time, so I called my DM at the time. She said get him now and go fast to the house cuz she wasn't sure what his status would be either. By the time Swift decided, he was already at home for almost 24 hours. LOL...sorry for the off topic, but chuckle about that a lot.
