FRANKLIN - A stolen big-rig tractor with no trailer ended up in the Great Miami River early Friday.
The sight was reported just after 5 a.m. The unoccupied truck entered the river east of the Atlas Roofing Co., 675 Oxford Road in Franklin.
Witnesses told police they saw two males wearing white T-shirts flee just after the truck went into the water. Officers determined that the truck - a 1998 International Tractor owned by Specialized Machinery Hauling and Rigging of West Carrollton, Ohio - had been stolen Thursday night from Heavy Duty Mechanical Service, a repair facility in Middletown.
