Low coolant probe was optional equipment. The engine is harness is wired for it. If the probe isn't present a shorting plug is installed so the ecm reads a normal level.

Checked, the position sensor is in place and hooked up. Looks a pita to test with an ohm meter when it stalls next time.

The one I have was doing it a few weeks ago a lot, only it would loose throttle just idle but run. Checked sensors wiring to no avail, its been ok since, (old trk old wiring). Some times had luck setting it high idle with the jake on and wiggling wiring by sensors and the small wires off the batterys when the was a connection problem or wiring you could hear the jake pop and go back to normal idle.

Those are my worst nightmares. Old wiring and being able to "wiggle" the wire to get it to work.

I noticed I have a drain on the new batteries, so I am going to start looking for it. Perhaps the alternator is going bad. I wonder if a faulty alternator, though the gauge reads good in the dash, could cause this sort of issue, being it is electronic in nature?

You might try looking into the low oil pressure warning sensor. Separate from oil pressure sending unit. Had this problem twice on my '95 435 N14 T800 KW. Red light shut down after two minutes!
Geez I miss that truck! Pulled it's gutz out!

Having similar issue on n14plus. Truck will stall out randomly and give a large rev occasionally. Won’t start again until stop engine code clears by cycling key numerous times. Any idea where to start? Is it with coolant sensor ? Thanks
