But you're neither a shipper or carrier.

It's easy to make things simple when you don't understand but 50% of it, and get the remainder of your knowledge from the truck stop diner or YouTube.

Good brokers are like good salesman. They build relationships and take care of their customers.

Your average truck driver/OO/carrier is unreliable AF.

Agreed but looking at it from yet another perspective is the convenience factor. If you're a transportation manager that doesn't have enough freight volume to justify the use of a large mega carrier but also have much more than a single small carrier can handle you'll have LOTS of work on your hands juggling all the carriers handling all the moves.

This is where the broker comes in. He handles takes all the burden off the transportation manager and makes his life a lot easier.

Think about all the regulatory, compliance, safety, billing, scheduling, dispatching and general odds and ends that are required for a single carrier and then multiply that by however many carriers you have. It can add up quickly.

Delegating these tasks and responsibilities to an outside company/broker/3pl etc saves not only time but money as well for the customer.

There's also legal aspects to consider but I think you get my point. Brokers are selling a service whether it's to the carrier's benefit or not is irrelevant.

The carrier is nothing but a mule to be used up and thrown away. Nobody likes to hear that but it's true. The real money is made off the mule. The mule just gets what it needs to keep it alive for the task at hand.

That's how it is regardless of whether it's one broker or one thousand. It's business. All anyone cares about is the bottom dollar. Period.

Thanks, its driving like that will help get rates up, cheap freight demands cheap driving, "we're not happy until you're not happy".

Being a one truck operation I need a good salesman to work with.
These large 3PL’s with a entry level person that has difficulty answering questions gets old.

As far as dealing with the rates as of late only working with my direct customers and deadhead back since November
