My mistake, I got the exchange rate for Canada to U.S. dollars mixed up.

So it’s good for both Canadians and Mexicans.

Even the expensive ELD's have glitching, my boss got so tired of me complaining to him, he gave me the name and number his contact at GEOTAB. For some reason, mine won't keep me in YM status when I'm in our yard, it constantly kicks me back into OD status. For some reason, mine's the only one doing it. Works perfectly fine everywhere else though.

Here's the sad reality of this. The majority of the population don't give a crap that we're being grossly undercut, that people are working for these wages.
Since 2015, on the weekends I drive for Uber and Lyft, when I started doing it, I was making 80% of the fare charged to the rider, I'd make bank, I'd go out and work 6 hours on Friday and Saturday nights and easily make $600 to $700 in a weekend. Today, thanks to all the cuts in driver pay, you're lucky if you make $250 in the those same hours. On the rare occasion that I still sign in to drive, if the trip doesn't pay at least $1.00 per mile, I don't accept it, my acceptance rate went from 98% to 30% as a result. But guess what, these companies don't care, for every driver like me that cherry picks rides, there's 5 more that will take everything thrown at them, regardless of the pay.
When you complain about it, the response from everyone, "go find a different job". The same holds true for us, complain and other than people in the industry, they'll tell you to find another job. I had a guy that's a pilot for a major airline tell me the same thing, he even brought up robo-taxis. Asked him what he makes annually, he said about $145K, and his union was planning on going on strike for better wages. I asked him, out of a 8 hour shift, how much time are you physically flying/in-control and how much time is the computer doing everything, he said on his current planned trip, Denver to L.A., maybe 90 minutes out of 6 hours. I told he's grossly overpaid, that some nerd could do the exact same job as him from their desk in Mom's basement for 60% less, heck, given that computers can do all of it at this point, he'll be replaced in a few years anyhow, maybe he should consider ditch digging.

The people that say things like that just want to kick the can down the road hoping they die before nobody gets to be fat and happy anymore. The sad reality is we're collapsing faster than most expected. It's going to get very ugly soon. Apathy will no longer be tolerated when the bread and circus goes away.

I'm not talking about eld glitches.

I'm talking about how the eld F's with the truck.

My current gig sends his trucks to the dealer for repairs. So I hear about the electrical glitches. All the time. They never get fixed.

My truck was a pos untill the box got pulled out. It's been mostly good since.

As far as Ridgeline saying don't buy cheap elds. That must be every company in the country. Cuz i hear the stories. All the time when I'm hanging out at the dealer.

Trucks don't like crap plugged into their systems. And this isn't my first rodeo with something plugged in to a truck.

I don't disagree with your point, but it's hard to argue that trucking is a free market considering how heavily we're regulated. Hell, the rates are literally the only things that aren't regulated.
