You couldn't give me a truck. If I'm going to spend the cost of a house buying a business it's not going to be in an oversaturated industry in a race to the bottom. You're actually better off buying a house if you're spending that kind of money anyway. It's a lower down payment, lower interest rate, payments can be spread out over 30 years and unlike freight rates rents keep going up. Plus it appreciates in value unlike your truck. I did run a small business for a little while and it did well but my schedule in the army made it difficult and by the way who cares? Can you refute anything I'm saying? First off, I've heard many old truck owners who have owned trucks for decades saying the same #### thing I just said so you can listen to them or just let them tell you. You're like those ring knockers who want to flex how they went to college as a counter to the verifiable facts you're providing them even though they majored in a field unrelated to the topic most of the time. So it doesn't matter, facts are facts. Cheap rates exist because there's owners accepting cheap rates. Low paying jobs exist because there are people willing to work low paying jobs. If you want to sell your truck you'll get market rate ie what people are willing to pay for it. It's basic economics. You don't need a business just a basic understanding of really just the bare basics of supply and demand.Bro_Dave Thanks this.

Hearing things and reading things is not the same as actual first hand experience.Ruthless Thanks this.

Alot of times it is because alot of those things you hear and read are coming from sources with significant first hand experience. You still haven't produced a counter argument against my points.

Bring back the ICC to set the rates. Lololol. That ship is long gone. And if it did happen who decides who gets to stay in the game and who has to leave? Because simply asking the government to run your business isn’t going to do squat to change the load to truck ratio.

Sorry I offended you with a simple question.
Just a couple more. Where did you get that 2.50$ #?
Do you really think foreigners are the only ones running cheap freight?Deere hunter, Lite bug and Bret1984 Thank this. -
I could care less about debating any of your points with you. If you think because someone read something somewhere that makes them as qualified as actually having the actual physical experience of doing said task than you're delusional.
In fact, your gross lack of understanding how the market works while demanding government intervention shows your ignorance so debating this with you is the equivalent of clapping with one hand. I can find much better things to do with that hand.Opus Thanks this.
