I not being condescending when I say this and maybe this has been said many times before. This post to me is an example of someone that has a talent for writing. I'm not saying some of you're posts don't need to be edited down, but every book, article, etc. is edited down so that is not a fault. Just wondering if you've ever explored this talent of painting a picture in peoples minds with you're words. I know Landline has a few people that write stories.

All states do, unless given a bypass.

Just yesterday I got pulled into the sb 75 scales in GA.

    I got the bypass arrow.

Trooper came out of the scalehouse and stopped me.

"What's the matter?" he says. "Didn't you feel like getting weighed?"

"I got the bypass arrow, sir".

    "No you didn't."

I stopped speaking. After a moment he told me swing around and get back on the scale, "you're probably fine". And since I had an empty tanker, I was. Weighed and green-lighted, and I GTFO.

You're supposed to stop at those? I've always went right by, empty or otherwise. No problems.

Many states such as Florida have electronic sensors. They are not checking just weights. They check length, width, height, bridge laws, all in an instant.
They are dubbed "weigh stations, " "scales, " e.t.c. They are commercial vehicle enforcement sites that can/ will check all aspects that are contained in that little green book you are required to carry in your vehicle.

@Rugerfan you haul logs don't ya? Do they make you run over the scale in an empty log truck or just send ya down the bypass?

    cke Thanks this.

I only haul very sensitive government freight. Two unmarked escorts accompanying my load at all times. So I'm exempt from HOS and weigh stations.

This one time, DOT cop in GA comes flying out of the scales, tries to make me stop. My load's escorts stopped him instead. They ended up arresting him for threatening national security.
