    I have a 9 speed Eaton Roadranger with 3:48 diff's, at 70mph i'm right at 1500 rpm's.

    Yours is an overdrive 9 speed - .73:1 in high gear.

    To the OP - the following link has the part number for a conversion kit if you have the right transmission. It will not give you a full .73:1 overdrive, but it will give you a .87:1 overdrive. This will lower your RPM's from 2200 to 1900.
