If my understanding is correct, and it may not be, you should be able to use yard move to get to the fuel island. However once you get there, you will have to show an additional 7 minutes for pre-trip.

Logging out is definitely important when you get home. All it will take is a mechanic pulling your truck in the shop and your reset is kaput because there is no way to get rid of the drive time. That's my biggest issue. People aren't robots, they make mistakes. Someone is going to come in after being on the road, forget to log out, and then someone is going to move their truck and forget to make sure nobody is logged in. In my opinion, not having the ability to correct that is ridiculous.

Today I picked up my travel order at a terminal. I had already logged my post trip and went off duty. Then logged off-duty driving to go 100 yards to park so I could take my 10 hour break. How silly. Hopefully I did that right. Who else is having a blast doing 3mph from your truck stop parking spot to the fuel island in the morning?

If we just took a 10 hour break, we are to use yard move to go from our parking spot to the fuel island? Doesn't that start our clock for the day? What if I find a flat tire or something? Then I just wasted like 4 hours. I like to look around the truck while I fuel in case it's dark out or pouring rain. Going on duty once confirming there are no issues first is the best move IMO.

Admin can switch that drive time to another driver(shop), but not eliminate it. It will need a record that it was in a repair shop or at terminal to back that change up.

Right, but assigning it to another driver does not fix the issue that there was no actual drive time for anyone involved.

Another thing I noticed is that when you reassign drive time to another driver, it automatically makes the driver you moved it from the co-driver. It may well be something I did wrong, but I'm not sure.

We have an "repair" driver that we switch it to if it was in a shop, with a repair order to back it up. In the yard we switch it to whoever was working in our shop at that time. Nothing you can do about moving to get fuel ect.

yeah I agree...100%...my eye sight is getting worse and worse as I get older(mid 40's) and been wearing glasses since I was 5! lol But, thinking, for sheets and giggles, I'm going to try NCDrivers advice tomorrow. Only have about 6 hours to drive for a Philly(Bensalem) Mon 8am delivery tomorrow and going to leave early and collect that 'layover' at the J in Elkton...hey Golden Corral! haha But figured I'd do post-trip/fuel then log out and get a spot. It'll be 10am on Sunday morning so should be easy to find one! Stay logged out until I leave Monday morning...worth a shot. They DID say to 'log out' after each trip, and was told I could log out after I'm done for the day IF I'm in a spot I know I won't have to move the truck. Oh well, no 'points' for 2 months...

from what Safety told me yesterday...you need to do 7 minutes pretrip BEFORE you move to fuel island, then switch to 'fuel tag' once you get to fuel island. This is what the major bummer is!

want to hear my 'funny story'? Sure you don't! lol Anyways, Truck came out of dealership on Monday. I was logged out. Moved outside of dealership to where an empty was brought for me(someone rescued my load I was under and dropped an empty for me....this 'dealership' was more or less just a dealer shop, only and closed on weekends!). I backed under trailer, hooked, checked everything out, then logged in. DENIED all unassigned driving time. then it went to 'update logs'. After that, I checked and approved everything. THEN, it just dinged me for driving 30 secs! I didn't even move the truck after I logged on! GRRR This past week, in Pasadena, I needed a headlight bulb. They gave me 1. I changed, was burned out(open box)...ok, gave me another one(open box again), burned out again. So made me put in shop. I know NOT to touch headlight as it blows if you touch it, has to do with the oil in your skin(we all know). PC to shop...popped hood, brought a brand new bulb out(unopened box, why they couldn't do that to begin with is beyond me!), installed it...then PC back to parking spot. However, when I backed it up(what 4 mph or something?), in PC MODE, it dinged me as driving for 5 secs!

WOW...I DID IT! This morning I did post trip/fuel and crept 3-4 MPH to a parking spot in Elkton, MD Flying J. All I need now is some driving gloves and some of them, 'flip flops' and maybe, I can become a real driver? Or, do I need to take a 30 minute break at the fuel island? Honestly, that 3-4 MPH did suck! lmao

Once you learn how to run legal you will start to become a real driver anyway.
