PP muffler does not have baffles. Baffles are not mandatory. No-one is going to dismantle your exhaust system. You either have a muffler or don't all it takes is a glance to see.

Anyone try a single straight under and out the back as a grass burner?
With my longer sleeper, I would have the exhaust 12-14' behind the cab, so I gotta wonder about the noise of straight pipe.?

I've been in a truck with a 90* behind the cab strait to the ground. Super loud and dumb. I assume it shouldn't be too bad if you cut it at a 45.

But would it be loud in the cab if it was over 12' behind a large sleeper?

And would over 12' of pipe create restriction of a muffler?

I don't think it would be loud unless it will drone inside itself like my 12v that's strait piped.

Straights are flat out loud. Either you like them or not. I run 7" flat tops with pickets elbows and 13'5" from the ground up with "NO" muffler or resonator. I LOVE the sound and many times drive with the windows roll down just here that sweet music. many here will differ, but to which is own. Now, about the DOT, scales, etc. I have NEVER gotten a citation but have been ask if there the muffler type inside which I say NO, but I say I had baffles put in them when install, (but dont). Some buy it, some dont and write it up on the inspection sheet BUT 'NO" citation has ever been given to me. One inspector told me one day that they didnt sound loud so he didnt bother. But again, I dont go reving up the engine thru the scales either.
So like I said, you like them or you dont, and if you do, you have to roll the dice just like gambling, you never know what the man (LEO) is gonna do.
