similar characteristics as muffler. I don't see any difference as muffler or resonator.

Depends who you ask, I have seen some LEO's except them and the majority of them NOT. This I have seen personally with a few buddies of mine. Some have gotten written up, some have not.

There is a federal law that the truck may not be any noiser than 92 decibles. and unless you are going to have your truck dyno'd and have the adility to change cam timing you are hurting you milage. An engine is made to run with a certain amount of back preasure, The cam is ground to get the maximum amount of air out of the cylinder without adding any cold air, that would slow down the turbo's ability to power the compressor. I have dyno'd many units with and without an exhaust system if there was a benefit the engine would put out more power at the same throttle position, they do not, most put out less.
With states needing money I believe they will start having areas that monitor trucks for noise, In California you were told to either get it fixed locally or go away.
Just a thought! -
Please show us the law of 92 decibels? Just wanting to read it for myself.
I'd have to disagree with the turbo back pressure. Not sure what having it dyno changes . But I do know I get 3-5lbs more turbo boost with out muffler and better fuel economy. Just saying. -
resonater in most states is legal not sure about the west coast there kinda funny out there
