FlaSwampRat:
I too love those SRT-4 Neons, they eat v8 mustangs for dinner when they came out. -
As for the trucks 2007 and newer with emissions devices, Federal law states that emissions devices must remain installed and in working condition as the manufacturer built it.
This is the one law that the Turbocharger is a muffling device cannot defeat.
So those trucks will always be quiet by law whether in Canada or USA.
In Toronto, Canada, the Mayor is attempting to put forth a noise law regarding loud vehicles. (Not sure if it’s in effect yet or not)
These vehicles for example are Harley Davidson motorcycles, cars with no muffling devices at all.
The police would be using a decibel meter to measure the noise and issue tickets. -
Tug Toy Thanks this.

You have to be the only one I ever heard say he preffered them over anything, except maybe walking beam, and I am not too sure about that. lolFlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
i didnt read the whole thread but heres my take,
Straight pipes and "stacks" is the same thing in my book.
When someone says," look at the stacks on that truck", they arent referring to a truck with mufllers on it.
As far as 8" pipes go, The bigger diameter they are, the more quieter they get. I went from 6" to 8" and they sound absoultely great -
Now before the reefer I did have a short stint pulling a grain buggy, this old spring ride truck and washboard grave . DO NOT mix. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Overall I'm content with it until my back starts hurting I'll leave it alone. But the springs are also original to the truck, and the odometer wasnt working when I bought it, judging by everything it's less than a million but probably up around 950k on the original springs on the truck which may also make a difference might not be quite as rough as she once was -
I drove and even owned some rough riding trucks in my younger days, but I was born with a back defect that has always caused a lot of pain, so for the last 20 or so years tend to try and get the best ride I can get.
I guess I just don't hurt as good as I used to. lol
What I remember the most about the reyco besides the ride, was traction, I have always gotten off the road and the traction is just not there with it.I did have an 86 or so volvo white, with rayco spring and air ride cab, that actually was not too bad of a ride.FlaSwampRat and 379exhd Thank this. -
My k100 is spring ride with an air ride cab but I will 2nd you on the no traction...last week I had to fire the old 986 up to pull the old k100 out of my field. I learned 3 lessons that day.
1. A power divider will not get 17k of truck out of a muddy field
2. Always chalk wheels
3. Use the draw bar not the blade to pull the truck out of the field. I successfully did a wheelie in the tractor. But after hooking her to the draw bar the old 100 horse 986 walked the k100 right out.
The guy I bought it from thought about putting an air ride cut off on same as I originally though but after driving it i think the air ride cab is fine. Now in 10 years it may get an airliner cutoff thrown on it but I'm still young and dumb. LolFlaSwampRat and Collie Thank this. -
That's the old single stack spring ride k100 as promised only took half an hour to upload the pics lolJohn E. and FlaSwampRat Thank this.
