I 95 is the only major interstate open in Pa. trucks on route 11 are backed up for miles in carlisle. They are plowing a warehouse off of route 11, and moving trucks in there to get them off of route 11 so they can plow.

Anyone in Carlsile wanna start a snowball fight?
Maybe if I get arrested, I won't have to take this stupid load up to Michigan on Valentines Day instead of going home to my wife (like I told them a month ago!) -
-
well all you guys be safe out there and remember, no load is worth risking your life or career for, shut it down and be safe.

There's a nice little bar in Carlisle down the street on the same side of the road as the Petro, since you're not going anywhere for awhile--if its open, that is.

GP, I think that wreck was on I80, clearfield county. Today there was a fifty car pile up going on up there.

I love it, they say they can't find me a relay,,, and that I need to get rolling (road conditions be ######) and I'm blocked in,,, by another USA truck. I wonder if he's empty? He can have my parking spot AND my load.
Me and another "Yousa?" driver sat and watched another company driver rip the mirror off a 9400. We should have asked him to park on the other side of the lot from us. Rookies making us look bad.jtrnr1951 Thanks this. -

I cannot believe the way the media freaks out about a snow storm.
In most of CO, WY, UT, MT, ID, NV, ND, SD etc a 12" or 18" storm wouldn't make any thing more than local news.
The extreme feminization of the media and many folks in the area is pretty evident. Its time to grow a set and deal with what is.
Common sense would tell you that in the winter you pay attention to the forecast, you stock up provisions ahead of time and then ride a storm out at the house. Waiting for the road crews to at the very least get the main roads opened up before getting back out and getting in the way.
There is no reason to not be prepared with a little extra food and water. Heck I live 2000 miles away from the storm and I knew it was coming..... for several days before it got there.
disclaimer........ now if you read this and are not one of the softies mentioned above then do not get your nose out of joint. This post wasn't directed at you.
The inability for folks to weather a 2 or 3 day weather event begs another question!!! or three.
WHAT THE HELL WOULD THESE FOLKS DO IN A REAL EMERGENCY???????????
I am not the ultra prepared like some folks are, but I'm pretty sure that I could easily ride out a 3 day weather event without missing many of the creature comforts. I certainly won't be hungry. The biggest casualty would be the cabin fever.
AND it looks like to me that the short sightedness and inability to take care of yourself stretches into A LOT more of the
country than just the New Orleans area after Katrina.jtrnr1951, BigSam, otherhalftw and 1 other person Thank this. -
