I agree with that. With the exception of the drug test, it seems counterproductive if not illogical to perform any portion of the background or application verification after the applicant has arrived for training or orientation. Unfortunately, this practice doesn't appear to be CRST specific; I've read several reports from different forum posters regarding other companies that do or have done the same thing. I'll admit to not being the sharpest knife in the drawer but it certainly seems like a waste of resources and goodwill to me. (The latter of which will never be regained and more important than resources anyway) That said and dependent upon the system of checks and balances in place, I suspect many of these and other issues associated with entry, may be the result of overbooking a planned event in order to compensate for the expected percentage of "no-shows". It still stinks, regardless.

CRST made all kinds of broken promises when they recruited my husband, but the worst is when he spent days in a parking lot, with no hope of getting a load any time soon, so he asked to just go home. They told the lead driver he was not to move the truck under no circumstances and told my husband he was to find his own way home. My husband spent 70 dollars on a taxi to a bus station that was closed, so he is spending the whole night sitting on the curb waiting for his 2 day bus trip to start. He also will not be eating, because he already ran out of money waiting for a run, which never came.

Verbal contract said my husband would get 1000 dollar sign on bonus, be in training for 3 days and be out for a week, then to return home and get ready for 21 days out with 4 days home after each 21 day run. Reality is he was in training 3 days then sat around for 2 days and then sent to a parking lot in Alabama where he sat for a couple more days. He was then told they have to drive first 200 miles free if not loaded and the bonus comes after driving so many miles. Also he would have to be in training 28 days before he could go home. That's 28 dys of driving, which in over a week they did none. They did not pay for training, food or the drive and wait out to Alabama. Did some research and they have drivers stranded all over the country, and they can not get home cause they either have a truck payment they can't make, or have no money to get home. Just google CRST, you won't believe your eyes. I would love to see a class action suit against this company that backs these drivers into a corner.

This would seem a little more sincere if you hadnt cut and paste this exact same post in another thread.
