If she reported it then was put off the truck you’d think the company would be bending over backwards to accommodate her. And any new driver or potential new driver that reads this it’s just another reason to always keep a few hundred stashed for just such an occasion! Never rely on these big companies for help!

There is always more to a story like this. No Major Trucking Company, not even CRST is going to allow a trainee, ESPECIALLY A FEMALE, to be dumped off at a Truck Stop. There is a serious liability issue there. If the OP contacted CRST as soon as she was "left stranded" at the TA. They would be bending over backwards to get her transportation and lodging. Have you noticed how the OP has not been back?

I would also advise contacting the police where this happened. Then later if CRST doesn't fix this to hire an attorney!

Just a note to anyone reading this that may think this is a good way to score some cash. I suspect most of us are just cynical enough to see through it. Staff members can see IPs. Several years ago on another board I actually did a whois on an IP. It came back to a known proxy server and I removed that comment as well as banned that "persona".

Waaait a minute, "Christy" from CRST? Wasn't that an advertising slogan for them years ago? Now, before you tar and feather me, I'm very sorry to hear about this kind of stuff, women are trying so hard, with fewer and fewer options for unschooled women, and someone has to take advantage of them. Since we don't know what went on, clearly it was an unpleasant situation and not much incentive for other women in the same boat.
Dear, get home however you can, and I can't tell you to continue, but be prepared, there are STILL a lot of men who don't want women in their "territory" and will make your life miserable. If you can handle that, try again, but just by coming here telling us, and not doing something about it yourself, tells me, you may have been misinformed as to what happens in trucking, and maybe not for you. A darn shame you had to shell out the money, and now you're kind of stuck. Good luck.

I think also, most don't understand that female trainees are "typically" put with female trainers. Or with male trainers that have gone through additional training to avoid such situations. Then, due to the liability, they are given strict policies and punishments for failing to follow those policies. Such as with my company. All male/female trainer/trainee meets must be at our yard and returned to the yard. The only way a female would be stranded as the OP, as posted, would be in an extreme case. Where the trainee was the disrupting party. Such as if hey were threatening the trainer with false "harassment" charges. Even then, the trainer would be on the phone with the training department explaining the situation and securing transport for the trainee. So yeah. This does not pass the smell test. IMO

Oh I agree. I guess my cynicism didn’t come through on my post. If the story given was true CRST would be handling it.

I’ve seen female trainee with male trainer and just shake my head at that.
Just bad all the way around.

Even a place like crusty wouldn’t leave someone stranded at a truck stop. They could be liable if something happens to that person.
It’s just like you can’t drop a drunk passenger off on the side of the highway.

I quit during orientation with a company that was outside my hone state they offered me a bus ticket cause I had car pooled. No company wants to get sued.

Heard a story in CDL school about a trainer who got fed up with his student, they pulled into a service plaza and the trainer hands the student $20 and says grab me a hot dog and pop and whatever you want for yourself. Then when the student disappears into the building, trainer sets the student's bags on the ground next to the truck and drives off.
